"I would not recommend dealing with Anchor realty. I was in the market as a home buyer in Steuben county and made an offer on a house that Anchor Realty represented. They went ahead and accepted the offer and I went through with the appraisal / inspection. They then decided to take the house off the market because the owner "met a girl." When we asked for the appraisal / inspection reimbursement they basically just told me to pound sand. The whole ordeal ended up costing me $945 and a lot of wasted time/effort, as well as a devastated fiancee. If I was a first time home buyer and cash poor, this would have been devastating. Legally they didn't have to pay because there is no protection for the buyer, but morally they should have. They make plenty of money and if their seller didn't have the morality to pay this money back, they should have. If you are in the market for a new home, i'd strongly recommend to not deal with them if at all possible, and certainly don't list through them. Update : After posting this review, the owner of Anchor Realty contacted my realtor and told him he's going to sue me for slander if I don't take this review down. Super classy."
