"Worst mechanic shop in all cuyahoga county!! SCAM ARTIST STAY AWAY!!! If you don’t believe to my story go to Lakewood police station they know him there very well and they told me that they wish they can close his shop but there is nothing they can do. Basically what he is doing is he fixes your car a few times (bad job but this is not the problem) and after you go back to him he will just steal your car and there is almost nothing you can do. He has been sued many times but nothing helps. This guy is a till somehow in business. He refuses to give the keys back to the car. We can all hope he will do it to the wrong person who will do to him what he deserves."

"Edit: at NO point was having a used alternator put on my car ever discussed. I was actually told the new alternator would be a "the expensive one" of the two kinds he claimed were able to be used on my car. Nor did I ever decline work. So now I also know he was going to charge me for a new part when he actually just went and grabbed one off a junked vehicle. If I was able to give negative stars I would. Charlie had my vehicle for 4 days after promising it would be fixed at the end of day 1. I had my vehicle towed in for an alternator repair after having the vehicle scanned to determine the problem. I did not hear from him at the end of day one. Day two I called the shop several times to try and get an update on the vehicle. After several hours I got a call back where he confirmed it was the alternator that needed replaced and that it would be more expensive than he quoted me. He told me I would be able to pick it up the next day no later than 4:30pm. I verified that they were open that day as it was a Sunday and he assured me he would have the vehicle ready. I called several times on Sunday with no answer. 4:30 came and went. No contact. Monday I began calling the moment the shop opened at 8:00am. I received a brief call at 10:30am where Charlie told me he just got into the shop and would "see what was going on" and call me right back he then hung up. 12:30pm rolled around and after several attempts to call the shop I had heard nothing. At this point I was frustrated and angry. My partner and I went up to the shop for answers. Upon arrival I see my vehicle was sitting on a side street near the shop. We went inside and found no one in the office. Once we found charlie he again told me the car would be ready by 4:30. I told him we absolutely needed the car that day and he assured me it would be ready. I told him we would be waiting at the coffee shop across the street for my vehicle. 5:00pm rolls around and Charlie calls me to let me know there is another issue with the time frame and it won't be ready until 6:30-7:00pm. Which would have been after close and we were doubtful it would happen. At this point I walk over to the shop and tell him we will wait there outside on the side walk since he has stated we cannot wait inside. He calls me several times asking me to go wait in a nearby restaurant "because it's too cold". I tell him I'm ok. Within half an hour he calls to let me know the car now wont be ready until even later but he would fix it that night. I told him we would wait. He then calls me 15 minutes later to tell me he has been calling all the nearby restaurants and coffee shops for my partner and I to find somewhere to sit bc it's so cold. At this point my partner asked to speak with him. They informed him that if he couldn't fix the vehicle that day as he had promised that we would just have it towed somewhere else. He assured us again that it would be fixed but we "could not" stand on the public sidewalk and needed to go sit at a different business. My partner told him at this point they weren't comfortable with that and wanted to stay in eyesight of the car. He very rudely told them they were being unreasonable. The next call was him telling us that he thought it would be better if we just took our car home so he didn't have to stay late. I had my car towed home only to discover that there was now no gas even though the car had hadn't been run and no oil and wouldn't turn over when jumped. The tow truck driver also informed us that this location has a reputation for using parts from one car in their possession to fix others, but that is just hear say. When looked at by another mechanic I've since learned my computer is not communicating with the vehicle and it's not able to be scanned. Which wasn't a problem prior to it spending it's days at calanni. I don't know what happened while they had my car I can only speculate. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere."

"Once we discovered Charlie, we have had our vehicles serviced by him. His shop is way more reasonably priced than others. Charlie is an honest mechanic who does not try to fleece you out of money with unnecessary repairs. He has always called in a timely fashion to communicate the progress on the repairs (multiple times if needed) throughout the day and given repair options with recommendations. Charlie is very knowledgeable and has looked out for our best interest. I highly recommend taking your vehicles to Charlie at Calanni Auto Service!"

"Been to this place many times over the past few years for a bunch of different vehicles (ford escape, ford fiesta, nissan Sentra. To name a few) Charlie takes a consultant approach to help where he can. Even offered to rebuild something as it would have cost too much to get a replacement! I mean, who cares enough about their customer like that anymore!?! A+ in my book. I’ll be back when I need work done."

"I'm not sure why there are so many negative comments about Charlie not being trustworthy. I just met him 2 weeks ago and he's been nothing but kind and helpful to me. Fixed my car for me within a day and charged me almost $400 LESS than what Conrad's was trying to get out of me. Also, my car hasn't had any issues since. Charlie absolutely has my business from here on out because he's honest. I am legitimately glad I have someone to go to now for my car that I know will tell me exactly what needs repaired, what will need repaired but can wait and won't bleed me of all my money."
