"I have a grievance with the service provided to me by this shop. At first I enjoyed the service and the staff seemed friendly. I brought the car (2018 Toyota Corolla) in 2/21/23 to get my front brakes replaced. I had pads and rotors replaced as I was told the calipers were fine. My mileage was at 176,620. I got my car originally at 69,438. My car was a dealer car leased out as a company car before I bought it. Even had the maintenance records in the glove box. No mention of any brake replacements. Now there definitely could have been that’s true. Even if there was a replacement before I got the car that still means I got 107,182 miles out of the brakes over the course of a year and a half. I keep very detailed maintenance records and I know for a fact that I personally have not replaced brakes on this car before this instance. Full transparency I do rideshare driving for a living so my car does take a beating. Even so, there’s no reason why when I go to get my tires checked in September 2023 at another shop I deal with that they tell me I have no front brake pad left. They investigated further and concluded that there slider pins weren’t greased. Further evidence was the uneven wear between the front left and front right. They showed me all this, I tell them that’s impossible because my brakes were just replaced this year. So this set of brakes from John Pierce only lasted 42,711 miles and 6 months!! To say I was pissed is an understatement. Sure it’s entirely possible it wasn’t the techs fault. It’s possible the pads were bad parts or the grease was bad grease. But nonetheless it’s infuriating that I go from getting over 100,000 miles out of a set of brakes to just over 42,000. A year and a half compared to 6 months. Mind you the entire time I’ve had this car I’ve been a full time rideshare driver so that’s not a contributing factor to the glaring difference in longevity. To add insult to injury an oil change was done by this shop in July and I asked the brakes be looked at as I could feel some grinding as I slowed the car down. I was told the brakes were fine. I did receive a call after posting my original review. This is an edited version as the first one did have strong language as I was mad when I wrote it. So I admit it wasn’t a fair review the first time around. I have also added details and context. The call went about as can be expected with any other shop complaint I’ve had over the years. It wasn’t their fault had to be my driving or something else out of their control and i was said to be bad mouthing the shop. This is why I didn’t call before posting because I’ve been down this road many times and didn’t think the call would make any difference. In fairness they did offer to make it right and replace the brakes. I advised them that because the trust was already lost I didn’t want them to do the repair. My trust with shops is thin to begin with as over the years I’ve been lied to, parts stolen out of my car, invoices fabricated, billed for work not done, etc. So that’s a huge factor in why my trust is so easily lost. I will work with one of my other shops I deal with to do the repair. At this point this shop and I’s business is concluded. Read your reply. Way to call me a liar! My case I laid out speaks for itself. I already mentioned the oil change in my review. Guess what? I say again your guys said everything was fine. At the end of the day Nate you can try your little ways to twist this around on me. Fact remains the set before yours lasted over 100,000 miles and I drove just as hard then as I did when yours came on. Plain and simple. Either supplier gave you bad parts, you use cheap parts, or your guys screwed up. You’ll never admit it but that’s just who you are. You always think you’re right. It’s certainly reflected in your condescending tone towards customers. But you can’t escape it: 100,000 vs 42,000. Case closed."

"The team at John Pierce Auto Care is knowledgeable, professional, efficient and fair and I would recommend this facility to anyone needing basic auto care or extensive engine work. Took my truck in for brakes and asked about an intermittent smell of burning oil while it was there. The staff here was able to track down the cause of the smell and offered a repair with other suggestions while they were already deep in the engine and at the 100k mile mark, but left the decision up to me whether or not to complete based on my budget and comfort. I elected to have them complete all suggested repairs and have been very pleased with the results. When I was in need of new tires for the truck prior to the upcoming winter, I contacted the shop and had a very good conversation about what I wanted in my new tires and what my driving habits required. I was presented with 3 good options based on their expertise and set an appointment to have them mounted that was quick and painless. I am very pleased with my new tires and plan to continue using this shop for any other auto issues we may need."

"This shops is absolutely amazing, the owner John is phenomenal as well as the rest of the team. I took my car is for a slow leak in one my tires, instead of charging me for a brand new tire John worked with me to not only patch the busted tired but he also did it completely free. The service was extremely timely, he had me in an out in less than 20 minutes and in that short time I got to witness an interaction with a new customer coming into the shop asking for John in particular. The other customer had never been to shop but was ecstatic to meet him after being told from another person the amazing service received by the entire team at John Pierce auto care. That interaction re-assured me that my car was in capable and experienced hands and I will be surely going back there for all future work. Thank you again to John and the team!"
