"I toiled over writing a negative review because of the owner and two other stylists who we know have been nothing but great. My sons and husband have gone to Wilma for nearly 20 years, no issues. Jamie was super helpful trying to fit me in when Kells wouldn't respond to messages and she didn't need to be. Chelsea (the owner) tried to talk to Kells about her poor business practices when I asked for help reaching Kells for scheduling. I understand Chelsea rents to Kells and Kells unprofessionalism doesn't represent Chelsea's salon. Having said that, Kells makes it clear you are there for her and she has no use for you. My interactions with her between April 2021 and October 2021 were mostly me trying to negotiate with Kells ego. Kells will do good hair IF you hound her to text back to book or change an appointment (Kells will blame her booking system and also tell you she doesn't "respond on her off time"), IF you don't complain when a root touch up for your blonde hair is dyed several shades darker than your natural brown (Kells will blame you, saying you're "out of it" but will offer nothing to fix it, her root job made the stylist who fixed it laugh), IF you don't mind being cancelled the day before your appointment made a month earlier (Kells will send a text, no apology, and no offer to reschedule), and IF you don't mind being told verbally by Kells that she'll take back product if you don't like it (when you ask Kells will tell you it's beyond the time and blame you, telling you it was on the receipt, taking zero responsibility for not mentioning a timeframe before she charged you). The kicker is this was my experience before deciding it was fair to write a review in light of Kells misrepresenting herself as a professional businesswoman. In my last interaction with her, Kells blamed me for having the product I asked to return too long, telling me I could have brought it to my last the appointment (the one she canceled), but she said she'd make an exception and exchange it. Once again she took no responsibility and then didn't get back with me like she said she would. Kells didn't bother to honor what she said, in spite of knowing I would write a review if she couldn't find it within herself to ONCE accept responsibility for herself. I have had maybe 4 hairdressers in more than 20 years of dying my hair. None have ever been so egotistical or outright dismissive of their clients. I have never changed hairdressers over anything related to personality clashes, I tip well, and I'm pretty easy to please. I was able to reschedule Kells day-before cancelation immediately with a stylist I love, so bitterness isn't the issue. If you care at all about being treated fairly or with any hint of value, avoid Kells. Word of mouth is fast in St. Bernard. When I heard about similar experiences with Kells, I understand mine is not unique. Kells earned this PSA."
