Exciting enhancements are underway at Oregon Trail Park to elevate the quality and appeal of the park. A new loop trail is being planned around the sports fields to improve accessibility for visitors. Additionally, a pickleball court complex and a new parking lot will be added to the northern end of the park.

In the meantime, temporary pickleball courts will be installed in the space previously occupied by the skate park. The park administration is working with the Parks and Recreation Board to develop plans for the future use of this area.

"The demolition of the skate park solidifies that I will be moving out of stow. How are you going to destroy something because it needs a little TLC, especially if it's the largest growing sport for kids at the time. The ramps could have been patched with hydraulic cement. Some portions of the flat ground needed to be grinded down so the ramps met appropriately. Then you could have just resurfaced the cheese grater blacktop ground with blacktop paint. That skate park was used every day from ages 4 to 30. These pickleball cords will be used for a month and then only one group will use them."

"A pretty big park with a lot of nice equipment. There is even an ice cream truck that stopped by. My 5-year-old loved it. There are also some pretty nice people there so he had a good time."

"Oregon Trail Park is a very well used open space mostly for soccer. There are four softball fields available and a skatepark as well. Kidstation Playground and Safety Village are a short walk away. Three restrooms are available as well. The skatepark looks "ok" but it could use some repaving and concrete repairs. The softball fields are good. But Field #1 and #2 (closest to Graham Road) are by far the best condition. Field #3 is usable and Field #4 looks like it has not been played on for quite some time. The majority of the park is a very large rectangular grass field that is designed for several soccer fields to be set up. There are no picnic tables (except for Kidstation)."

"I went to the park for 2 reasons. One being Pokemon Go and the other is the skatepark. Pokemon God was fruitful. The skatepark however.... The ground was horrible and some of the ramps have chunks of cement missing. Also where the ramp meet the ground, is far from level. Bikes will do fine but skateboards are going to be rough. Definitely not recommended for kids or beginners."

"Great playground for the family. They have a section for big kids as well as one for smaller kids. The Stow safety town is on the other side of the parking lot, so bring bikes/scooters. Only took off 1 star because there is very little shade to be had on a hot day."
