"Overall, this was a good experience. Excellent location very close to the Main Street Beach/Lighthouse and within easy walking distance to the shops downtown. Despite being a "B&B", the owner doesn't live on the property and there is no breakfast available in the house (we did find a $15 gift card to a restaurant downtown in our guestbook, though we passed on that as it was pretty much doughnuts and fast-food type breakfast sandwiches). Wasn't crazy about not having the owner on site--or the late check-in time of 4:00 p.m. (and we couldn't get in a minute sooner). Kinda weird set up inside. The bedroom was pretty tiny and claustrophobic, though the bed was very comfortable. Funky, streaming only TV with no local channels."

"I’m giving Gilchrist 5 starts because of the location (on the water), walking distance to the little town which includes to Chez Francois and because of Sid. He’s wonderful ~ he really wants to make sure your stay here is nothing but comfortable and perfect Thank you Sid we’re so glad you fell in to your dream place here!"

"We stayed in Captains room which had a queen and single bed, very nice house well cared for. Breakfast was sub par for a B&B. Great location. A small refrigerator would be helpful to keep beer and wine chilled."

"Lovely B&B within a stone's throw of Lake Erie and a very short walk of downtown Vermilion. Four very different rooms available including one with kitchen. Very spacious common area separating the rooms. Like most quaint, historic houses it is full of many hazards for very small children so be prepared for lots of stairs, fragile antiques, extensions cords, etc."

"Under new management this beautiful historic gem is currently under extensive renovation. Plenty of privacy.The new owner is warm, welcoming and knowledgeable about the home and the area. Love her homemade pastries and muffins. Love walking along the shore in the morning at sunrise. Come for a weekend and check out all the unique antique and specialty stores in town. I found some great deals at a large antique shop over the tracks in town. I think it was an old church? Great ice cream place on the corner that you can savor next door at the park."
