Royalton Inn & Suites Wilmington

"This place is disgusting and completely falsely advertised. First the outdoor sign is whited out, the filth on the building should have given us enough warning to run but we thought let's go in a see if it's better inside. Nope.....filthy as soon as you walk in, the windows weren't obscured that is the amount of filth. We called before booking specifically asked if the pool and hot tub were open. They lied the hot tub was filled with rocks and potted plants. The breakfast area was dirty and out dated, the breakfast is packaged donuts. We proceeded to check in and that's when it got even worse. We turned to go down the hallway and again we should have run. Have you seen National Lampoons European vacation? This place is right up there. The carpet in the hallways has inches of dirt along the edges of the hallway and the hallway was barely lit. We enter the room and it was gross, the sheets are all stained, bugs on the wall, the lights didn't work beside the bed, the carpet I don't think has been vacuumed ever, and there was dried toilet paper stuck to the wall in the bathroom. We did not end up staying, it was beyond gross. The smell will accost you once you enter. The pictures on the website are very outdated don't trust them. They were very nice when we chose to leave and gave us a full refund."

"Upon arrival at this place we should have turned and ran quickly away. The first room they put us in wasn’t clean at all:( the bedding was stained or just old. We are not quick to be disappointed so we moved to another room. It wasn’t much better! Was afraid to use coffee maker in room it still had filter in it for who knows how long. We did get clean towels upon request. They didn’t mind seeing us leave early nor would they adjust our bill. Booked for 3 nights and couldn’t take more than 2 :( Need to say we’ll never go back. Huge difference between Dated & just plain filth. Won’t even go into the stench of the place! I’ve had two major surgeries recently and cleanliness is always of most importance. We feared leaving with far more than we intended. Wish I could post pics.. NEVER AGAIN!!"

"I liked this place I like how clean it was the pool however was a total different if I knew that the pool was going to be so cold we probably wouldn't have not pay the extra for the pool and stayed here the cleaning person was very nice. They said that the pool was 75°, but there's no way that water is 75°, must be broken!!"

"We arrived late with no reservation. Paying with cash but they will definitely need your ID and they do accept cards. Rooms seemed very clean. TV didn't work properly but we believe it may have been the remote or its batteries. Had a small refrigerator & very small coffee maker with coffee and other supplies. Normal supplies also were available shampoo, soap, and lotion etc. The shower & heater sounded like they might explode definitely enough to wake you up every time it came on. Every room is a non-smoking room. We ended up in a room with two beds. We had plenty of pillows. I thought that the staff was extremely friendly. They also had coffee & tea out front of the service desk with cream and sugar/sweeteners. We weren't sure if there was any type of breakfast available we weren't told. Very fair pricing, ice machines, vending machines, most importantly a pool and this location has a big parking lot both front & back as well as being surrounded by ample parking lot space. There are many businesses located near this hotel, including restaurants, Thrift store and fast food locations as well as being located near the freeway & a main road through town. I would go back to this location but not get the same room."
