"The location of this hotel is super convenient and close to everything especially for the price. I should have known it being this cheap something was wrong. We stayed on the fifth floor which is right above the lounge, where music plays extremely loud until at least 2am. I understand they have a lounge and people enjoy the music but I feel like a heads up when booking the room that it can be extremely loud is called for. The air condition also didn’t work, it was super hot and humid in our room, we did call the front desk and they gave us a fan which helped a tiny bit. But, if I had to get a good night sleep I would have been extremely frustrated between the noise and temperature in the room. There was also a huge white crusty stain on the bed frame that was gross."

"I've been staying at the Godfrey for 10+ years. I've never been disappointed. Front desk people are super nice and accommodating with all requests. I will continue to come here for a quick get-a-way with the wifey. Edwin is always a pleasure to work with. I highly recommend this hotel if you plan on staying close to the Chicago downtown area."

"Clean hotel and rooms with nice views. Front desk staff is extremely rude so don’t expect much help or empathy when making requests. Rooftop is very cool but the drinks and food are pretty overpriced for what you get. Even for Chicago. For a luxury hotel with a restaurant on the top floor I assumed that there would be a microwave in the room. However, we were able to request one be brought up to the room and staff fulfilled our request without problem."

"The hotel is conveniently located near to good restaurants, so if you wanna explore, it's a great option. Check-in and check-out was fast. Just bear jn mind that some hotels, Godfrey included, charges you an additional "urban fee" or something as such when you check-in. So don't be surprised like I did. This is something new, which I found out later. If you're not interested to pay extras on top of your already paid-in-full booking, then I highly recommend you should call the hotel in advance and ask if they charge extras on top of your booking money and then book your stay. I stayed in their King Suite. Very clean rooms. Heating was great. Bathroom had good supplies and were very clean. Bed and sofa was very comfy."

"We enjoyed our one-night stay. The room was very well decorated and the bed was very comfortable. The refrigerator was set at 47 degrees - not cool enough to keep my dinner leftovers at a safe temperature. And there was no microwave. That was a bummer. On top of this, they charge a $20 “urban fee” which is just a way for hotels to make their room price look lower than it is. The hotel cites certain amenities as the reason for the urban fee, but they are common amenities that imo do not justify the cost. Soundproofing could be better but it didn’t keep us from sleeping. Otherwise, great experience. Overnight self-parking was $52 and was very convenient."
