"0 stars. Literally any other company is better than this one. No one has heard of them( I’m in chicago, Illinois area for reference) and they require you to get your doctors pre Approved before going to one. I’m currently dealing with over $5,000 in bills from my doctors despite clearchain assuring me my responsibility is only $450. One of these bills for $250 was for a yearly preventative visit that should be 100% covered. Another for an MRI I also got pre authorization for. Based off other stories I’ve heard my bills will likely go to collections while waiting for clearchain to “ figure it out”. This company is nothing short of criminal, stay far away!"

"Last December I went for an annual exam. I hadn’t been in 7 years having not had insurance, but I finally had a job with insurance I could afford. Clearchain assured me that it would be 100% covered. I have called and email upwards of 30 times since last December trying to get the bill covered. Clearchain says they’ve settled it and I owe $0. I’ve sent Clearchain every bill my provider sends me, just as requested. My provider just sent me a notice that my $310 bill from that visit will go to collections next week. Clearchain is an absolute scam and I want to be part of the inevitable class action lawsuit that will be filed against them. I pay $500 every month for this absolute nightmare insurance."

"We unfortunately have this insurance at my work and it’s the worst I’ve ever had. The process of finding providers/facilities that actually will “supposedly “ accept this insurance is abysmal. I just recently stopped fighting for bills from LAST YEAR to be covered and opted to file for financial assistance with my old facility. ClearDoc had been attempting to “negotiate” these bills for 5 months with absolutely no resolution. As I was facing being sent to collections, I finally caved and decided to pay out of pocket. When you speak to representatives all you hear are textbook lines and that they are working on resolution with no actual updates/adjustments occurring. When the rep can only say that a doctor/facility submitted claims to ClearChain “7 months ago”, I have zero faith in the company. I wish this company made it easier for those who have it and just simply have In Network providers to choose from! I am dreading my upcoming delivery as I can only imagine how LITTLE the insurance will actually cover. Or worse yet, the hospital I’ve been told I can safely deliver at will state they also have no contract with ClearChain and I’ll end up with the entire bill. AVOID AVOID AVOID!!!"

"I have been fighting with ClearChain for over a year to get an MRI paid for. For over 6 months to get a hospital stay paid for. I have spent over 50 hours on this, maybe a hundred emails, multiple phone calls, faxes, etc. Literally a nightmare. I have had panic attacks because of their "policies". Please note: their standard reply is that your medical bills may go into collections before they get paid."

"Make sure you check to see if your doctors will accept this insurance before signing up! I wish I would’ve! My provider and my kids’ pediatrician, who they’ve gone to all of their lives, will not take this insurance. I was told that the major hospital system in my area will not take it. I also tried to go to two different urgent cares and neither of them would take it. I finally found one who said they would. Hopefully I don’t end up getting a bill. They make it sound like you can go to whatever doctor you would like because there’s no network and they don’t contract with providers. This is not the case if you have providers who only contract with insurance companies. Affordable health insurance means nothing if no one takes it. Edited to add on 8/19/21 that ClearChain has been helpful in finding providers since I wrote this review. My doctor won’t take the insurance. I had to switch, which is a big bummer since I really liked her. Also, it’s been a pain trying to find providers who will. It’s a process. It would be so much easier if they had a network of providers to choose from."
