"I have been going to see Dr. Pamfilie for 13 years. And I have always loved her. She moved to Hudson, which is quite the drive for me, but I continued to see her because I liked her. Over the years, she’s seen me for regular checkups and treated me for my PTSD. I like to stay where I feel comfortable. It’s hard for me to see new doctors. This past week I was attacked and fell during my attack and broke my humerus bone. I was in the ER and had X-rays done. Plus, they gave me medication. But they didn’t give me enough to last a week. I didn’t need surgery. And I am wearing only a sling because the break couldn’t be in a cast. I called the office. The secretary told me I would have to come in. I told her I couldn’t because the pain and wearing a seat belt would not happen. I couldn’t even shower because it was so painful to move. I said that I had every paper from the ER. I’m sure they could also get my stuff released to them as my doctor. But she still insisted I come there. So I started to cry. I was hurting, triggered, and scared about what I would do without their help. I don't have insurance. They didn’t even offer to help me find some help from a trusted source. They told me to go to a surgeon even though I didn’t need surgery. And I had the paperwork to prove it. I, a patient of 13 years, needed help. And I’m sure I was not rainbows and sunshine. I needed help!! I was hurting. The second person got on the phone and explained that they couldn’t because the law prohibits them from giving me the medication because they didn’t treat me for the break. That’s not what the other person told me. So I said fine, thanks, and hung up. I can’t spend $500 at a surgeon’s office to get $15 worth OSS pain meds to get me through a few more days. Then they sent me a letter saying they were releasing me because I was so far away. That’s very sad. And I’m so sorry they weren’t able to give me the empathy at the time I needed it the most. Maybe they’ve never experienced the pain I was in, both physically and mentally. And I hope they never do. But I think if they are going to do that- treat me like I was unimportant to them- then I want to make sure others understand this may not be the place for them. I hope this also brings some awareness to their office. When someone is in pain, the least you can do is say- what can we do to help you? Especially knowing that I was struggling and was treated there for PTSD. And I miss the days when a doctor talks to you personally. I wish she would’ve talked to me instead of sending me a certified letter. But I guess I judged her wrongly."

"I have been going to Hudson Family Practice for a couple years now. Everyone is nice, helpful and seem to be very knowledgeable. My doctor has been Susan Jekielek. You may ask then, why the two stars. They wait time for my appointments has been consistently getting longer and happening to me almost every visit. My wife has been having the same issues. I know what you might say. That happens at every doctors office. I have been asking family and friends. It doesn't happen at every doctors office. My last appointment was earlier this week. After 45 minutes I left my examination room and calmly, very important that I do not understate that I calmly expressed that these long wait times is disrespectful to me and that I will not be paying for this visit. I received the following letter yesterday. "It has come to my attention that you are unhappy with the wait you incur when you have an appointment to see me. I apologize you have to wait. Since you are unhappy with the wait time you may be better served to seek care elsewhere since I cannot guarantee this will not happen again. Call us if you need a 30 day supply on your medications until you are seen by your new PCP." This letter was signed by my doctor. What I take from this letter is this. Instead of taking feedback about the fact that more appointments than not people are waiting long amounts of time to be seen by their doctor and possible fixing it, they tell me to go elsewhere. I understand that waits happen. I am fine with that. But not at this scale. Thank you Susan. I will take your advice and go. I will be encouraging my wife to leave as well."
