"I was trying to be a new patient except I called Friday and the systems were down. No big deal. I told the girl, I’d be a new patient and she let me know the systems were down and to call back Monday. ALL day Monday, the phone rang busy. And I called 6 times. I assumed it was just because their system was down on Friday. Tried to be understanding. I called back Tuesday. Which is today, as the guy that answers informs me that they are only accepting new patients that currently have family members that are being seen at that practice. Which by the way, I’ve worked at OBGYNs and currently work at a large medical practice remotely and have NEVER heard of that before. But aside from that, online on your website nowhere that I could find and through my provider search through insurance nowhere, does it say this. And if it does and I just didn’t see it, Friday after waiting on the phone for 30 minutes for someone to answer the phone, to be told your systems were down, the girl should have informed me as a new patient that only way I could be taken on is if I had family here. Had I been told this, I could have researched another practice hopefully near me over the weekend, as I need a new provider for medications and basic medical healthcare. Rather than wasting my time Monday and Tuesday. I just moved here with my spouse. With not a drop of family for hundreds of miles. We have no family here, so that makes this incredibly difficult. It’s one thing to not take new patients. It’s wholly different to exclude them MEDICAL CARE on the basis of preferential treatment because they have family members who are already being seen."
