"A great cabin feeling of a rustic wood and stone ambiance. Fairly priced location open to the public with bar and grill food that price match competitive prices with your local chain restaurants. Can hold and host large gatherings, including weddings with a golf course right outside it's doors. The only discrepancy I had was it was COLD inside. the drafts from the doors were awful along with the cold air seeping through single pain windows. (Ohio, due to cold prefers double pain with gas filled inserts.) I ate my noon meal in my winter coat and had to eat fast, in order to enjoy a hot meal before the air flow chilled it. The waitress tried to accommodate with a floor heater but there was nowhere to plug it in, and no offer of any compensation for eating a meal in a heatless location. As much as I so badly want to go back, it definitely won't be in the cold months. I hope this post wakes up the owner. All this money dumped into a beautiful location and the one thing they didn't invest in, was quality windows & door seals and Heating/cooling of said location. A big let down for a new place I wouldn't mind coming back to eat at. If I wanted to eat in the cold in January, I'd light my grill at my own house."
"I got a burger medium rare. It was cooked perfectly and tasted great. Service was great. I did call ahead to ask about specials and they told me they had $6 burgers on Thursdays. What they didn't tell me was you have to buy a drink. I don't drink alcohol and usually don't drink soda. I ordered a ginger ale for $3. So the $6 burger was $9."
"The Black River Tavern is a wonderful restaurant located at the Valley Of The Eagles Golf Club. Prices are good, wide variety of food selections, absolutely stunning atmosphere, and phenomenal staff. They also have a couple of indoor golf simulators within the tavern as well."
