"I have worked for Assurance Health for over two years now and It’s definitely the best nursing job I’ve had in my decade long career. Let’s be honest every health care job has it’s downfalls, low staffing, bad management, careless employees etc. Geriatric psychiatry is a very DIFFICULT field. I must say that on our unit we have top notch nurses, caring and hard working tech’s and management that tries their best to appease their employees and make sure that we are giving good care. Do we get bad apples sometimes, well yes we do but we do a good job weeding them out as well. We are close like a family and our psychiatrist is superb! He is highly educated, is cautious in handling our geriatric patients and communicates with families while respecting the rights of his patients...and let’s not forget to mention our patients are better when discharged! Our social worker is beyond caring and is always looking for ways to better our processes. This is the best team I’ve ever been a part of. The pay is highly competitive, vacation time is great. Overall wonderful place to work and very rewarding."

"My husband was transferred to Assurance from Mercy Medical’s ER for suicidal thoughts. Mercy shouldn’t have sent him there and Assurance shouldn’t have accepted him because Assurance is Not equipped for anyone other than dimentia and/or Alzheimer’s patients! My husband was admitted on the evening of 2/14 and today is 2/18 and he has yet to see a doctor! Their idea of treatment is letting the nurses and STNAs monitor the patients and report to the doctor who then adjust meds based on the staff’s recommendations!! He is receiving No counseling, individual or group! They are simply very very expensive babysitters!! In addition to the horrible care of the on staff psychiatrist the site case worst keeps telling to do her job!! If I could give a negative score I would!!"

The doctors take the time to really get to know the patients and they are focused on improving the quality of life for each patient.
