"We tried several dishes and appetizers and enjoyed most of the dishes. The seafood pho soup wasn't to our liking; however, it was only because my sister doesn't enjoy clams and squid. The rest of the food was delicious, and if you like Thai cuisine, I would recommend giving them a try. I especially enjoyed the Chicken Pad Thai, as most other places around Cincinnati that serve this dish are too sweet for my liking. At Banh Lao, they have a three level heat system they use: 1 for mild, 2 for medium, and 3 for hot. I got a level 3 and will admit it was a bit hot for me, so I will give level 2 a try next time. While I love spicy food, I don't have the highest threshold for spice. The staff was friendly and the cook even came and asked for our opinion of the food. The restaurant is a bit on the small side, but some of the best places around are. Hope you find this helpful and bon appetite."

"First time here so we tried several items since it was lunch sizes. I ordered the shrimp pho but got the seafood pho instead. It was still tasty I just picked out what I didn't want. I look forward to trying other items."

"I strongly recommend reading this review before planning your visit!!! Service that Shines - 5 Stars: I can't help but commend the impeccable service I experienced during every visit. The staff's friendliness was truly noteworthy and contributed to an enjoyable dining experience. Aesthetically Pleasing Interior: The restaurant's interior exudes a pleasant ambiance, offering a cozy atmosphere that sets the stage for a delightful meal. Delightful Culinary Experience, with Room for Improvement: The culinary journey was mostly a hit - the dishes were undeniably delicious. However, there's a glimmer of potential for even greater flavors to be unlocked. WHY DID I REDUCE A STAR? During a previous visit, I tried the Laab Seen dish, only to be taken aback by an unpleasant odor. Authenticity aside, any dish shouldn't have a malodorous quality. So, be careful what you choose! While most items on the menu were a culinary triumph, my sole qualm was the shortage of pineapple slices in my fried rice. A touch more attention to detail would have elevated this dish to perfection. CONFUSED WHAT TO ORDER? For those embarking on their inaugural visit, feel free to consult my attached receipt photo for guidance. Everything was shared between me and my friend, just like any asians do! Follow me for more!"

"The staff is really great and friendly and the place is cute. I didn’t love the food. Everything was a bit too sweet. Our favorite was the fried rice."

"The service was very pleasant. They were friendly, and very nice. However, they seemed unorganized or not enough experiences or training. We had several orders for lunch: Thai Fried Rice, Pad see ew, Fried springroll and potstickers. The only thing I really enjoyed was the Fried Rice, tasted great. The others were not so much. The pad see ew was too sweet even though we had it with medium spicy level. The springroll and potstickers should have been frieda little longer, to get the crispy brown skin/wrapping."
