The Arepa Place is a restaurant located at 131 West Elder Street in Cincinnati, Ohio, United States. Specializing in Colombian and Venezuelan cuisine, we are known for our delicious arepas. Founded in 2016 by owner Isis Arrieta-Dennis, who hails from Colombia, our recipes are passed down from generations. After operating as a pop-up tent for over two years, we opened our first brick-and-mortar location at Findlay Market in 2018.
Our traditional stuffed arepas are made by boiling and grinding corn, kneading dough, grilling patties, and filling them with a variety of ingredients such as mozzarella cheese, black beans, fried plantains, shredded beef, chorizo, and chicken. We also offer cheese arepas and empanadas made from freshly ground corn and stuffed with various fillings.
Visit us at Findlay Market, the oldest continuously operated public market in Ohio, where you can enjoy fresh produce, crafts, live music, and a variety of food and drink options. Our catering service includes all necessary supplies, and we can accommodate special requests.
Operating hours are Tuesday through Thursday from 11am to 7pm, Friday from 11am to 8pm, Saturday from 10am to 8pm, and Sunday from 10am to 6pm. We also offer delivery services through DoorDash, UberEats, and GrubHub.
For reservations, a 50% advance payment is required, along with a 20% service fee and 7% sales tax. Cancellations made at least seven business days in advance will receive a full refund, while cancellations made fewer than seven business days prior to the event will not be refunded.

"I always come for the empanadas but to be completely honest, the big (sorry don’t know how else to describe him) guy with the glasses is rude. I get it, it’s Sunday and you probably don’t want to be here. The rest of the staff is always so kind but I know when this guys at the cash register, I’m either about to get an attitude or something is wrong with my order because of miscommunication. The Arepa Place, I am not the only one complaining about this staff member, please read a previous review from another gentleman."
"I really enjoyed the steak and cheese Arepa. It was very simple but still had a lot of flavor and the Roja salsa was delicious."
"Stopped here on my way to Cleveland and again on the way back to TN; it was delicious!! I liked that there were outdoor tables across the street at the market because the inside of the place was small and also had a weird smell. There were a few boxes of mixes along the wall that you could take home and make in addition to food for purchase. I would absolutely go again."
"Don't short yourself, go with, "The great arepa." You must believe in yourself and order an empanda too. The apple soda is the best way to wash it all down."
"Really good empanadas at a reasonable price. Staff was friendly enough, and the seating in the resturant is not ideal. It's a very narrow place, so you're stepping over people eating. The food was very good though, I'd just recommend takeout."
