Benchmark Restaurant

"I am from the UK and visited Benchmark while visiting family who moved to Ohio a couple of months ago. My brother in law took us to this restaurant, and my goodness, it was such an incredible experience. I have travelled and eaten in many restaurants around Europe, even within several regions of Italy, and I still firmly believe that Benchmark is one of, if not, the best restaurant I have ever been to in my life. Everything was perfect. The atmosphere, the drinks, the service, the FOOD! The presentation, and the experience overall, was unforgettable. We had a lovely waitress named Savannah, if i remember her name correctly, and she was just wonderful and kind, and catered to our needs in a very professional and thoughtful manner. She clearly really enjoys her job and wanted to make us feel taken care of, which she did! I ordered the shrimps and grits for my main course because I wanted to try foods that were regional to the area and that we don’t have in my country and it was so amazing, I truly cannot express how much I enjoyed this dish. Absolutely everything about it was just perfect. The quality of the prawns, how it was presented, the flavours, everything was very special and clearly had been prepared by an excellent chef. Also our starters were amazing, as seen in the photos, we had beef carpaccio and a prosciutto and melon salad to share between four of us. They also gave us “popovers” when we arrived which were also delicious, and rather similar to our Yorkshire puddings we have in England with a roast dinner. For dessert our waitress recommended the bourbon cake to share which is also similar to a British classic, which we call sticky toffee pudding, an excellent recommendation because we ate it so fast! I wanted to write this review because it was a very unforgettable night and I enjoyed it so much that I want to hop on another 7 hour flight from London just to eat here again. Whether you are a local or visitor, you must try Benchmark. Thank you for giving us such a wonderful experience!"

"I got the 20in Bone-in NY Strip The Chef's Way. It was good, It was cooked to temp, but I wasn't blown away by the steak, and thats what they claim to specialize in. (It was a little tough) The service was great, and the apps and sides were tasty. My second half wasn't impressed with the wine menu either."

"The food was great. Expensive but tasted amazing!!! The drinks were amazing - I definitely recommend the espresso martini!!! The beet salad was great. The French onion soup was the best I’ve ever had!!!"

"Had a great meal this past evening. The food was excellent. I highly recommend the whipped feta appetizer. The main entree was a 16oz Prime Ribeye medium-rare and prepared to perfection. The Seabass was also big hit for the other members of the party. Very nice atmosphere and comfortable seating and table arrangements. I will add though my only negative would be the volume of the room and as other reviewers have noted not expected. Overall, top of the list for fine dining in the Toledo-Perrysburg area."

"I’ve searched the nation far and wide for a quality meal. I don’t take it lightly when I say this is one of the best restaurants. All of the menu items have been carefully designed, perfected and crafted. Great use of a variety of ingredients. Well prepared. Highly qualified staff. One of the few places where I could pick anything on the menu and know I would be satisfied. Cake done right. The bourbon cake was very moist and airy. A rare texture, but the perfect texture. First visited 2 years ago or so. Always had a good impression. To get reconfirmed is a major testament to the operations of this restaurant. Very few pass the repeat test. Also passed the two hour test. If you know you know."
