"AMAZING workers here! I wish I remembered the first person who helped me for my first day of class! :( it was a guy who wore an ivy cap and he patiently helped me get ALL the supplies I needed, (I had two giant things I needed and he carried them for me to the register). Then, I came back another day to return some items I realized I didn’t need with Vanessa. She seems great at picking up on how customers feel and what they want. It felt like she made my life easier when she helped me return my items and waited for me as I checked to see around the aisles if I needed other supplies lol. I’ve also briefly spoke to some people on my school campus that were from Sam flax and they were friendly as well."

"I visited Sam Flax for the first time today. I have lived in Orlando for a few years now, and every single time I have passed by, I’ve made a note to check it out. Shortly after I moved, I experienced some health events that really limited what I could do, so I only just now got around to it. I haven’t been able to do a lot of art these past few years due to the state of my health, and I just recently decided to give art another shot. I was incredibly disappointed by how inaccessible the store was. The classes that are offered are only offered upstairs with no elevator, and two entire sections of clearance items and art books was impossible for me to get to due to the stairs. I kept bumping into displays and couldn’t even look at some of the items because of the lack of wheelchair mobility. The store was nice and some of the employees were friendly. Still, I felt very discouraged and disappointed. I’m sure I would fall in love with this place had I been able-bodied, but I am not. I came here looking for community and some new sketchbooks and left with nothing; after a half-hearted apology from an employee regarding the barriers to access, it was clear to me that I wasn’t welcome in this space."

"Great service, with kind and knowledgeable staff! For those into fountain pens, they have an especially great selection of pens and paper, considering this isn’t the main focus of the store!"

"If you are looking for a store for your art or drawing hobby...this is a awesome place. Staff is friendly and the store is organized so things are easy to find. Parking is tight and limited near the store so you may have to park at their satellite parking nearby."

"Really cool place. You want to own or write with a fountain pen? You gotta visit place. Lots of choices for art and crafts stuff. Framing department was really good. Ed especially in framing was super helpful working with us, providing options and opinions. A full wall of Japanese paper that feels like cloth was a novelty. Access could be a little difficult on the busy colonial and the entrance may not be obvious. There is some parking right in front but I believe there is additional parking nearby."
