"Really enjoyed living here for a year. The office staff is super nice and maintenance is really fast. Although I did have some minor issues being on the ground floor, I think it’s a very nice complex for the price. Never had any bug issues, the residents are really quiet and the place is really clean!"

"Lived here for 2 years and I had actually had a good time. Responsive maintenance crew, good location. Kind of a big intersection but Wawa is 100 ft away so thats a big bonus. They went through several management company changes a few years ago which were rough adjustments, but the owner of the property is managing it again and she is absolutely wonderful. Honest, caring, easy to work with."

"No longer happy with this complex. We have been living here for a most 4 years and the past year has been the worst, especially when Cushman and Wakefield took over. At the beginning of the year we went two weeks without power and the laundry was not usable. Later one of our windows broke it took over 4 months to repair. The lights in the kitchen went off and because maintenance didn’t have the lights my husband I had to buy the lights (no refund).We have several other things that need repair in our apartment but we don’t even bother to ask for maintenance because unfortunately only two people are available to fix anything between this complex and their sister complex. Now to top it all off at the very last minute we receive a 20% increase year to year in rent renewal, and give residents 2 week to respond (during thanksgiving). Clearly, this puts residents between a rock and a hard place, because almost everything in the area has already been rented out by November. Also, beware, they may ask you to pay more than shown on the website. Finally, there are literally zero amenities and the laundry room often is not working."

"This is one of the best-managed properties I have ever seen! It is well-maintained, full of quiet & respectful residents, and the property manager (Melissa) is truly a credit to her profession and has a warm vibe unlike any other apartment manager I've ever met. This may be an older property, but the service & reception you receive here is bar none the best in the city and would put any larger corporate property management firm to shame with ease. I give this place 5 stars, 2 thumbs way up, and perhaps even a bag of chocolate chip cookies for good measure, since this team deserves it!"

"I lived in a 2/2 from 2017-2018 and a 1/1 in 2021… By far, Mount Vernon is one of the best apartment complexes in Gainesville! The price is unbeatable for an upgraded, large apartment that is CLOSE to UF campus and the VA and UF Health Shands Hospitals. Also, it was nice to have water included in the rent… Management is wonderful; especially Melissa! She went above and beyond to have my 1/1 apartment ready in time…Also, I appreciate how all management expects from residents is an open line of communication. During both of my experiences, my neighbors were quiet and mature; I never had any issues with them. I will say the only thing I wish the apartments had was a washer and dryer in the unit. However, there is an on-site laundry room that is accessible for residents. I would definitely choose Mount Vernon again if I had the opportunity!"
