"Everyone at management is kind and helpful. But that is where the perks stop. Constantly under construction and honestly embarrassing to have guests over cause of how dirty the carpets are. Even with all the construction, management refuses to be understanding and continues to tow cars (people have paid for those parking spots!). The model unit looks nothing like the apartment you end up getting. And the roaches in the building are a whole different case. The positive comments you see are likely fake to boost ratings. Please do not sign here for your own well-being."
"My son has been living there since August. When he moved in we were told that the elevator bridge was being repaired and would be completed in 4-6 weeks. It’s now been seven MONTHS and it’s still not open, so they have to go up and down four flights of stairs. It wasn’t so bad (other than VH lying about when it would be done), but now my son has a knee injury and it’s very hard for him to get up and down."
"An amazing location! I’ve been living here for three years and recommend it to those who are looking for a change of scenery. Privacy is great and the roommate matching system gave me the best two roommates since day one! The location is right in the heart of Gainesville, about a 10 min drive from main campus, 15 to the mall, and less than 5 to plenty of shops, grocery stores, and restaurants. So glad to be a VHG resident!"
"Our daughter's apartment looks nothing like the models they were shown and not a desirable place to live. Her roommate that tore her ACL and MCL has been forced to climb 3 flights of stairs for 2 and 1/2 months to get to her apartment since the elevator has been unavailable since early September (must be an ADA violation). We would not recommend Varsity House at all for anyone."
