Silver Star Dental Center: Nakhla Wafiek DMD

"Dr Demiana (Demi) Wafiek is an unskilled dentist who should probably still be an intern. I believe in giving individuals a chance to correct mistakes before making a judgment. Finally I had to regretfully write a bad review. I went in to get a filling and it was done so poorly I had to go in twice to get it adjusted! On the 3rd time I came in for this issue, Dr Demi argued with me about her shoddy work, defending it, and attempting to put the blame on me with undertones of insult! How laughable... The filling was set so high that I couldn't fully close my mouth. In fact, she managed somehow to fuse 2 of my teeth together so that I couldn't even floss in between them. The filling left my tooth surface porous and caused cold/hot sensitivity. The finish was extremely rough and began flaking off. Finally she refused to adjust her work and stood by her shoddy practice. Very disappointing. Now I have to find another dentist to fix her work."

"Drs Wafiek and Demiana Nakhla were wonderful! They are so kind, patient, and respectful to their patients. The staff was also very pleasant, patiently helping me to understand my dental coverage. Dr Demi took kind and patient time to help me understand the process and paperwork. Dr Wafiek reassured me of my dental concerns explained the process in detail step by step and really showed he cared. He even made time to do an extra procedure for me that day. I would 100% recommend this practice!"

"I chose to use this dental office because this is where I went when I was younger, so I trust to bring my children here. My son had an appointment but I needed to call his insurance company to switch him over. I did so and was advised that the change could not be made because the office”s contract expires on the 28th if this month. So I called the dentist’s office to reschedule and let them know the reason why. The lady that answered the phone was extremely rude and kept a negative tone the whole conversation saying “idk who gave you that information, I just got the letter saying I am a platinum dentist office and we are certified “ I let her know while that may be, the insurance company is saying this isn’t the case. The lady then demands that I call them back and “see what’s going on” I responded saying hey I just let you know what’s going on and this is between your office and the insurance company, it’s something I can’t fix. She then cut me off saying “ma’am I can just cancel the appointment” with the nastiest attitude ever and no option to reschedule. I am more than disappointed with the service I received."

"Had a nasty toothache last night that prevented me from eating and that was a problem. Searched for a dentist and found Dr. Nakhla. The staff was extremely attentive and friendly and they got me in immediately to meet with Dr. Nakhla who was great. I felt like I met family and my tooth is on the heal. Thank you Dr. Nakhla and staff. I felt valued, welcomed and gratified."

"Do you want the worst place to go? This is it! First off, I heard about this place through my mum, I'm on her insurance. I went into the office today and explained to the receptionist what I came for. Let me not forget to say I WAS LATE! I totally understood that I was late, it's my fault I knew that... She asked for my name and my appmt time and I told her. Before I could get another word out my mouth she starts saying (Loudly as if I'm stupid and I can't tell time) "Well you're late your appointment was like an hour ago. When you schedule an appointment with someone you don't show up an hour late for the appmt. We can't do anything for you, but you can reschedule." Being that I'm on my mum's insurance and I don't want to make a decision without her, I called her and asked her what to do... There was a nurse standing next to the receptionist. When I got off the phone with my mum, I turned to the nurse and ask her if they don't accept walk-ins. Before the nurse could get a word out, she rudely interrupted saying "It's only if you have an emergency"... Long story short the whole time I'm asking questions (my first time being there, and, being at a dentist in America) she kept being rude to me. I felt like my whole experience would've been different if she didn't have that bitchy attitude. The dentist is an alright person that I would work with. But that receptionist does not have any manners, and for an adult, who wears a wedding ring and seem to have children, should know how to speak and when to speak. Guessing she doesn't know how to?
