"Absolute nightmare of a broker to work with! If you are looking for homeowners insurance, do yourself a favor and look anywhere else! When I moved I ended up with Brightway by default and it has been a terrible experience from the start. The past two years in a row our insurance through Brighway has gone up significantly. In April 2020 we started at around $2,300, in April 2021 it jumped to $3,600 and now in April 2022 its jumped to $5,100. Each time, the offers are presented at renewal leaving us with no options to find a reasonable alternative option. This year, it was a requirement to replace our roof which the roof is perfectly fine. We immediately signed a contact with a roofing company, however, due to supply issues the roof cannot be replaced in less than a two month timeframe which means the ONLY option I have is to renew at an insane rate. My plan is to "renew" as I have no option and then cancel the second the roofers add the last nail. The representative I spoke with each year comes up with a million excuses on why its gone up but have offered 0 proactive solutions for better rates or options. The agent I spoke with stated that the insurance company could require that we replace the roof after 5 years... excuse me... You are requiring that I spend $25,000 on a new roof that you say you may make me change in 5 years.... BYE! The representative then proceeded to email my other half who's also on the policy to let them know she thought it was unfair that I was upset and shouldn't cancel my policy... keep your 25%! What’s unfair is how Brightway has handled our insurance for the past two years."
