"Just had a visit from Ken from Accent America for a mold problem under kitchen sink and it was beyond bad from start to finish. Would not recommend this company for any type of mold issue or otherwise. Showed up 30 minutes early while I was working with no notice. Ok, not the worst thing that could happen. Contractor did not have shoe coverings so I offered him some and he refused even though we don’t wear shoes in our home, ever. He also appeared to be sick. Congestion, coughing and eyes as red as blood. Due to my daughter having compromised immunity I asked him to wear a mask and he refused and got quite loud about the fact he won’t wear a mask or shoe booties. Against my better judgement I let him in, big mistake! He initially says he doesn’t smell mold and could barely get down to look under the sink. Said he has bad knees. Didn’t have a flashlight to even see properly under the dark sink cabinets and just took a quick look and said he doesn’t see anything no mold. He was very loud and kept claiming to be an expert but contradicted himself repeatedly. I have already had someone out that found the mold and I too both see and smell the mold. A rather loud debate ensued about the fact that there is mold and he kept walking towards me although I kept trying to keep my distance from him. He was pacing all over my kitchen and living room coughing and the whole thing was quite scary. I asked him to please leave and he did. His recommendation was an air quality test but that is not sufficient if there is mold behind cabinets especially if it’s stachybotris“black mold”. So while he claims to be an expert, I too know a little something about mold after losing our home and all our belongings to it. Yes an air quality test would be a good starting place but may not pick up “black mold” because that is not an air borne mold. Whole thing was a complete waste of time and now I’m very concerned about what sickness he just brought into our home, HORRIBLE!!!"
