The gift shop is open from 9 am to 5 pm, with rentals available from 9 am to 4:45 pm. Beach rentals, including chairs and umbrellas, are available from 9 am to 4:30 pm. Paddles, backrests, and life vests are included in the rental price. Additionally, there is a special 2-hour pricing offer valid from June 1st to October 31st.
Located in the main parking lot of Lovers Key State Park, the gift shop is housed in a construction trailer near the tram stop. "Kayaking at Lovers Key is beautiful! It’s my favorite Beach in the area. The estuary is so calm and serene and full of wild life! The staff is very kind and knowledgeable The tour guides offer an abundance of knowledge and are funny and enjoyable to be around. Both Stephen and Karen do a great Job. I always enjoy my time out at Lovers Key. I’m very glad to see that the concession is open. They have a gift shop with drinks ,snacks and souvenirs. They offer Kayak, canoe and paddle board rentals for the estuary and beach lounge and umbrella rentals and paddle boards at the beach. I highly recommend for your next vacation there is so much to do."
"Can’t recommend the moon rise tour. Typically you go on a nature tour to enjoy and learn something about the environment around you. Our guide was like a stand up comedian which left little opportunity to just enjoy the sights and sounds around us. She also didn’t take us very far. We spent most of the time just floating and waiting for the moon to rise. A policeman saw our boats floating in the dark and asked why we didn’t all have lights. Good question! We had to paddle back in the dark with only our guide having a front facing light. Sketchy situation. Recommend just kayaking on your own during daylight in this estuary because it is a haven for wildlife. Or perhaps with the other guide, Stephen."
"My husband and I booked a 4-hour canoe rental at Lovers Key. We were the only canoe on the channel among multiple kayaks and paddle boards. The staff were very helpful at the pavilion. You launch your own canoe/kayak at the boat launch. We saw 8 manatees, 3 dolphins, multiple egrets, cranes, and other birds. We highly recommend you take the time to go all the way to the end of the channel/ the last buoy. It was a great experience and a great price for the rentals, we highly recommend."
