"It's a beautiful place. We rode horses on the equestrian trails. I'd love to go back again."

"Living in southwest Florida your options for primitive camping are few and far between. This place could be one of the better locations to enjoy backpack camping if not for people... As I sit here on the picnic table writing this "review of my experience", three early-twenties fuqtards are fishing on the dock 25 feet away from me. This being my second trip in a row attempting to camp here in the forest at a designated campsite with rude inconsiderate lowlifes barging right through the middle of my camp as though I didn't exist, I can confidently say it will be my last. It's a shame because the 2 different sites I've reserved were laid out nicely with decent scenery as far as Florida goes. As with most things outdoors, people ruin everything. So far they've tossed 2 beer cans into the lake, I can't retrieve water to make my dinner, can't have a normal volume conversation with my co-camper and we're already an hour into this idiotic ordeal. It would be nice if the park would post signs indicating that the sites are reserved in attempt to at least mildly discourage others from intruding on the person who paid for said campsite's peace and quiet."

"Loved the campground. It is primitive, but each site has a fire ring and table. Enjoyed the solitude. Spent the next day at nearby Stump Pass State Park beach."

"This is a very primitive campground. There are 2 port o potties for the campground but it is a small campground. We were there from Friday to Monday and it was not busy at all and very quiet. The only downside is that you have to unlock and lock the gate EVERY time you come and go. Other than that, it's a very nice campground. There is lots to do in the area."

"We hiked to the Pine Straw campsite and back which was a little over 5 miles. There are many other trails to walk and a river to fish at. The trails are well kept, the forest is beautiful, and we saw a lot of wildlife and wildlife sign in just a few hours. I was very happy to see a gopher tortoise! We plan on doing some camping and hunting there in the next few months. Definitely worth a visit."
