Balm Boyette Park

"Balm Boyette has a new parking lot and a large gazebo furnished with portable potties and trash cans which makes getting together with others before a ride an enjoyable one. The trail system here is one of the best trail systems Florida has to offer. Given this area originally was excavated for mining and left unclaimed, the trails have a special flow in mountain biking unique to this type of topography. There are around 50 trails in this park almost evenly divided between green, blue, and black trails with sparse double diamond trails which are "enter-at-your-own-risk" type of challenge. Ridgeline is one of the most famous black trails in this system but it takes many other trails to get there. So make sure you come with plenty of hydration, first-aid kit, and extra energy to have a great time at Balm Boyette Park. Helmets are mandatory."

"Great place to mt bike. It'd be better with more signs and directions on the trails. They removed the porta potty and there is no drinking water so bring plenty."

"Ok one has to ask a question. Who in their right mind though that it was a good idea to put 6, yes you heard me correctly, 6 handicap parking spaces to what effectively is a parking lot for mountain bikers? There is literally nothing else there, nothing else is planned. There is no foot traffic allowed, just an off-road bicycle path. I mean I understand that codes exist but excessive much? Where are they going to find 1, let alone 6 persons with disabilities who have to park in the handicap parking space who ride mountain bikes? That just sounds like not something they would do."
