"Purchased some egg nog on Christmas. Store advertised it as $3.19/bottle. At the register they charge $5.99/bottle. When I tried to get the pricing resolved they stated it is a seasonal item and they display it with their normal milk at the same price as milk even though it is actually not the same price. I asked why they can't just put the real price on the product so the consumer knows what they are paying instead of having the price covertly switched on them at the register without them knowing. The three girls at the register thought I was crazy and burst into humiliating laughter at my expense in front of a store full of people. They stated they do this with a lot of products and I believe them since three of the five customers ahead of me in line also had items come up with different prices at the registers. There are many levels of violations here including but not limited to false advertising, bait & switch and deceptive sales tactics. There is a clear culture of this practice at this location (6345 Powell Rd; The Villages, FL 32163). This should be investigated with retraining on customer service for both management and employees alike. WARNING: check the prices you are being charged at the register since they purposefully mis-price them on the shelves. Reply: Owner, go check it out for yourself. Many items deceptively priced. List one price on the shelf and charge a higher price at the register."
