Aqua at Windmeadows Apartments

"When I moved in here 2 years ago the front office staff was horrible, rude and no help. However since then there is a new manager and she has been helpful and kind when helping with lease changes which is wonderful. When i moved in nothing was cleaned in my apartment nor fixed luckily i have pictures of everything. A few months ago the one lady up front accused me of having multiple noise disturbances (which i didn’t) and told me she would be putting the charge on my account with 0 information on who was actually making the disturbance which once i confronted her face to face she came to the realization it was not me. She said the reason for her attitude etc was because they are understaffed and overworked. Water is constantly off."

"Aqua at Windmeadows is a joke, and at 1500 dollars for a single bedroom it’s far too expensive to be a funny one. I am writing this review while contesting multiple false charges listed on my final move out notice. I encountered numerous debilitating problems during my stay. For those who might not read my full review the following information is essential: If you value your wellbeing, comfort, and safety, do not rent at Aqua at Windmeadows. The only thing “premier” about it is the rent. If you are a student, do not rent here unless you enjoy being spoken down to by property managers and having your every concern ignored for weeks at a time or never even responded to. As noted in other reviews, any recent positive reviews are likely those made by property managers or individuals provided with incentive to post them in order to maintain a 4 on Google Review. Not a single resident I ever spoke to had even one kind word to say about this place. Any negative review is followed in a day by a positive one. Move-In When I first moved in, not a single surface was free of dust, I found an absurd amount of dead insects on the counters and in the corners of the kitchen, multiple discarded nails littered the carpet of the bedroom, and mildew covered the entire shower and tub. Not a single thing was clean. This of course didn’t stop Aqua from charging me 120$ for “cleaning services.” This is what I regret most not taking photos of. I had just moved to Gainesville after a considerable loss in my personal life to attend college and with only a week till classes began my immediate priority was making the place I was going to be living habitable. The Kitchen For me the kitchen is a space where I spend quite a bit of time. At Aqua the kitchen I was provided with was one where the drawers in the fridge would not stay in place and had multiple cracks and where if I didn’t carefully balance what I put on the shelves they collapsed. The oven I was given on move in had a thick coating of black putrid grease at the bottom of ,the photos attached are only what it looked like of when I had removed a majority of what had been left there when I moved in. After contacting the front office I was simply told that “nothing was wrong and no further requests will be processed”. Bathroom Within a month of me moving in every metal surface in the bathroom was rusted. I hadn’t known that they actually made bathroom fixtures which did that until I moved to Aqua. Paint was chipping off in multiple places along the wall. What surprised me the most though was when an entire section of the paint on the bottom of the tub peeled off in on large piece. When I contacted the front office they had a worker come by, he looked at it, said that it would be followed up on and from that day till move out along with many other attempts to contact the front office nothing was ever done. Laundry Room As mentioned previously I was charged 120$ upon moving in. Not only was not a single thing clean in the apartment but the lint trap in the dryer wasn’t even cleared. After a mere few uses of the dryer I began to smell what I thought was something burning, after checking all of my clothing for scorch marks I opened the lint trap and found what must have been at least a years worth of accumulated lint. Aqua was not only not interested in giving me a clean apartment but with just as much ease were willing to risk my safety by providing me with an actual fire hazard. And as an addition the laundry room door was hanging off its hinges. This was not unique to the laundry room though as nearly every door in the apartment except the front was in the same state. Living Room If you have a living room at Aqua at Windmeadows I hope there’s no living you actually intend to do in it. The cheap linoleum flooring was so flimsy that even with all of the necessary non-slip and anti-scratch measures I used to avoid doing damage to the floor my small couch punctured four holes into it. Do not rent here or at any GoldOller community. They are as greedy as they are incomptent."

"Wow what a great place. The front office staff is amazing and all the maintenance guys I've met have been super courteous and respectful. Love living here with the spacious floor plans and quiet neighbors. The walls are actually insulated so I don't hear a thing! Overall A+ I'm never moving."

"This place is great!I had a Renovated apartment, which is absolutely beautiful, brand new! There’s shops, restaurants and everything you need within walking distance.. The only reason I moved out was because I bought a house but I got my deposit back within two weeks. The office team was so helpful and I saw them there all hours of the day and night. I give them credit for being able to deal with so many residents, and still maintain a professional attitude."

"I've been a resident at this apartment complex for some time now, and unfortunately, I must express my disappointment with several aspects of this community. Maintenance Neglect: The first glaring issue is the lack of attention to basic maintenance. Pieces of the gate have been missing, scattered across the grass, creating an eyesore. The pet waste receptacles have remained overflowing for days on end, and it's disheartening to see how little effort is put into ensuring cleanliness and functionality. False Gated Community: This complex markets itself as a "gated community," but in reality, the gates are almost always open. This is a concerning security issue, especially considering the premium rent residents are charged. I strongly believe that the gates should be operational at all times, as they are meant to provide an added layer of security and exclusivity for residents. Palm Tree Debris: The neglected palm tree debris scattered around the complex further adds to the overall lack of upkeep. It's frustrating to witness this negligence when residents pay a premium for their living space. Water Shut-Offs: Another recurring problem is the frequent water shut-offs. While management often sends emails claiming that these repairs will take 2-4 hours, they consistently extend to almost 12 hours. This is not only an inconvenience but also a breach of trust in the management's communication. Unmet Expectations: When I pay a substantial amount for rent, I expect a clean, well-maintained living environment. Unfortunately, this complex has not lived up to these expectations. Positive Aspect: One redeeming quality of this complex is its location, directly across the street from Butler Plaza, which offers convenient access to grocery stores, restaurants, and a movie theater. In conclusion, my experience at this apartment complex has been marred by inadequate maintenance, security concerns, and communication issues. I hope that management takes these concerns seriously and takes the necessary steps to improve the living conditions for all residents."
