Hair Studio On Alafaya

"I traveled to Orlando for my birthday and the day prior On Feb 10th 2024 I called the hair studio because it is advertised online that they accept walk-ins. A lady answered the phone and said I can come in at anytime. I arrived to the location and saw a “short hair” stylist on the right hand corner by the wall working on a client. I walked up to her and showed her what I wanted and she asked me to when I wanted to get it done..??.. obviously if I’m in the salon now then perhaps I’d want it done TODAY! So I said “today” and she follows up with “I can’t today I have 2 ladies under the dryer and one in my chair right now” mind you its only 10AM. so I explained to her that my hair was already relaxed, cut and washed it just need it styled. In a very condescending tone She said “I can’t just style your hair I have to go through the entire process” understandable. I understood. Even though all she really had to do was rewash my hair, mold me and add a few finger waves. 45min process. As I’m walking away she says “happy birthday though” with her cheap lipstick smile. As much as I want to support black people, I hate your business, this lady especially. Don’t allow walk-ins in you can’t even manage the ones you have scheduled. You’re a slow and lazy worker and that’s okay. My suggestion is that you only do scheduling and make sure they are booked 4 hours apart to make time to run next door to find a better lip shade, feed your stomach and your ego, maybe read a few books on customer service or find a new career path. Even gives you a good amount of time to take off the “WALK INS WELCOMED” signs on the front door of the salon."

"Would not recommend Henry to anyone. I came in with mistakes from bleaching my hair at home. I am a natural blonde so my hair before wasn’t too bad, just a little too light for me. I had asked for lowlights and toning for the brassiness. I left the salon with dark brown roots and gray ends, also my hair 2 inches shorter. He told me he was going to do the dark so he could then add highlights to it, that never happened. Now I will need to get it fixed by a real professional. Terrible."

"I went to Hair Studio yesterday while desperately looking for a salon to cut my hair. I walked in around 12:30 and there was only one person working due to it being new years day. His name was Henry. He greated me and informed me he had another client coming at 1:30 and asked if I'd be willing to come back around 3:30. I agreed and I'm glad I did. I had to get a major chop and I was super nervous and haven't been to a salon in years. He went over everything with me showed me that I'm asking for a lot to be cut off and to make sure it's what I wanted. I explained how my hair had been damaged and I waited a year to have it cut so my hair would grow out. He was so gentle and detailed while he explained what he was going to do. I've never had short hair so it was a huge jump but I love it. It came out amazing and so healthy. I had bad bleach and color remover damage on half my hair where my hair was uneven and breaking off constantly. I would recommend Henry 10/10."

"I wish I WISH I could leave negative stars on this place! My boyfriend went in for a haircut and came out destroyed. The so called stylist did a hack job, she pretended to know what she was doing and continued to use the wrong scissors on his hair even after he asked her to switch scissors. She ended up giving him an uneven bowl haircut and when he asked her if it looked good she started to laugh in his face. He is not the kind of man to cry over a haircut but she completely destroyed his hair right before one of the most important days of his life. The manager was kind and quickly refunded his money, by the look on her face she knew what a horrible sight it is. Please save yourself some emotional trauma and stress, DO NOT COME HERE!"

"I'm very happy with the way my hair turned out! Holly did an amazing job and in less than 2 hours she did a color, highlight, cut, blowdry and curl. She definitely exceeded my expectations and the price was very reasonable!"
