"SPD created a beautiful pool scape that transformed our backyard and matched the custom vision we had for it to be the centerpiece of our outdoor living area we could enjoy year round. Conducting the pool build during COVID affected the rating as we experienced numerous delays, material issues and poor communication from our first two project managers. These hiccups and frustrations had us questioning our decision and they were trending toward a 2 star rating. Once Rick took over managing though he turned everything around with exceptional leadership, effective organization and trustworthy communication. Rick restored my confidence and he personally gets a full 5 stars from me without blemish. Now over a year after the pool finished, I come back to finish the review and attest SPD is reputable and stands behind the quality of the pools they build; e.g. this month found an issue with the autofill system that leaked, they didn’t hide behind being outside of warranty, they sent plumbers to fix the issue. I truly respect that and can recommend them to others."

"Our pool was just completed a month ago …. This is the second pool Southern Pool has done for us is the past two years. The first pool was completed in June 2022 , we ended up selling the house in February 2023. Not because of the pool . We purchased our new home in March and started getting prices on our pool. SPD was our favorite from the start , not the cheapest but we were so happy with the first pool there was no reason to try anyone else. Our pool was started in may and completed the end of august way ahead of what we were planning. Starting with Joel our designer , Andrew , Rick , Nate and Mark we can’t say enough good things about these guys . We have no intention of selling this house but if we did and needed another pool we would use SPD for sure . I don’t have great photos yet but I will post what I have. Thank you for our great pool !! "We absolutely love our new pool! It is exactly what we envisioned and more. The Southern Pool Design (SPD) crew provided a phenomenal customer experience from the beginning to the end! What made the experience so great? 1) They gave us peace of mind by including the removal of our existing pool as part of the overall project. Other companies either told us we would have to take care of that on our own or their quotes for the removal far exceeded SPD’s. 2) Imelda, the engineer who designed our pool, listened to our vision and made it come to life. She made some wonderful suggestions, including the perfect water features that really enhanced our original design. 3) Mark, the general manager, was extremely responsive from my first email inquiring about their services to the final inspection. 4) Finally, but definitely not least, Larry, our project manager, was the secret sauce! He kept us informed; kept the project on schedule (we told him it had to be done by July 4th and he came in two weeks before schedule!); and he is very particular, which significantly benefited us when he found the most minor imperfections and ensured their partner contractors corrected them. Bonus: When I reviewed their website and saw the extravagant projects they had done, I wasn’t sure our minimalist, smaller project would get the same level of attention, but we never felt that we had less priority. Here are photos of the old pool we had removed—the small one with a separate jacuzzi. The new one has a splash pool with jets and other water features ideal for kids and adults who want to sit and chill in a shallow area."
