About the Business

Sanford Seminole Aquatic Center

The Sanford Seminole Aquatic Center is a state-of-the-art facility located at 2703 Ridgewood Avenue in Sanford, Florida. This center offers a variety of aquatic programs and activities for the community to enjoy.

This Aquatic Center was established through a collaboration between the City of Sanford, Seminole County, and the Seminole County School Board. It officially opened its doors to the public in March of 2000 and has since become a hub for competitive swimming and diving events.

Named in honor of former Mayor Larry A. Dale, who played a crucial role in bringing the Aquatic Center to Sanford, this facility has hosted prestigious tournaments such as the Sunshine State Games and the Florida High School State Water Polo Championships.

The Aquatic Center offers two-week sessions with seven or eight sessions in total, held from Monday through Thursday. It is a popular destination for swimmers and water sports enthusiasts in the area.

Please note that due to operational challenges with the City of Sanford's Reclaimed Water System, there are restrictions on public access to reclaimed water. As a result, the hours of operation may be limited, with irrigation only allowed from 10:00 pm to 5:00 am on scheduled days. Despite potential low pressure issues, the Aquatic Center continues to provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all visitors.

"The pool is absolutely clean, and it is a safe place for all ages and families! The only thing is on Saturdays do not expect leaving work and run to have some fun and relaxing swimming for a little bit because the pool is not going to be open until 5pm (the information is saying it closes at 5pm) because they will close around 3pm, MOST Saturdays, even if absolutely don't even looks like it is going to rain a single drop, but this is what they are going to say to close it earlier. Pretty disappointed."

"This pool is exceptional for lane swimming and the swimming lessons are great. Teachers and lifeguards enforce safety rules, as it should be. It’s not a beach, so don’t expect your kids can run around with pool toys jumping and splashing everyone and yelling. It’s for people who like to swim and well behaved children. It’s clean and well staffed and you can’t beat it for a nice community pool."

"O.M.G.!!!! Looooovvvvvveeeeeee it!!! The swim lessons here are the cheapest by FAR! $35 for 2 WEEKS of lessons!!! Unheard of! But not only that it's located near the Seminole swimteam and they REALLY teach the kids to swim WELL!!! I mean you can tell the difference in ONE day!!! Unlike some other swim learning centers, where they seem to hold the kids back, just to prolong lessons. The swim Coaches are super sweet and young, I wish mine was a little more forthcoming with the kids behavior, because my other kids told me how poorly one of my kids was behaving. So I guess, it's literally based on interpretation, my kids know my expectations so WE thought my child's behavior was unacceptable, where as the Coach was very jovial and sweet and appeared to careless. She definitely received better treatment at the next session accompanied with an apology. After observing some of the other kids, I understand why she felt it was such a minor behavior problem. So, their young, but also have a great temperament for children and they are extremely professional in spite of the kids behavior. Nonetheless, the lessons were amazing! We LOVE them and may ACTUALLY join the swim team!"
