"Simple place with good breakfast options and great prices. Very good service and staff. Nothing fancy, but well done. Velma was very nice, and they kept the coffee coming."

"Great little diner. Pepe enjoyed. Velma’s husband makes a killer omelette with all the sides. Super atmosphere with cozy close quarters seating. Everyone so friendly. Food tastes like my mom just cooked it."

"Oh no. What a disappointment! Clean but tattered atmosphere. Velma welcomed us quickly and politely. We ordered the soup of the day with a salad and the lunch special of Meatloaf with mashed potatoes and peas. Unfortunately the sulfur water made the iced tea taste awful. Snd then we waited. And waited. And waited. 45 minutes. For soup and meatloaf. The soup tasted good and the salad was decent. But the meatloaf looked like none I’ve ever seen. It was quite bland and the peas were obviously canned. I think the “mashed potato” was boiled, peeled and smashed on my plate. Really disappointing! This place is too far out of the way to try again."

"We finally made it!! To find a place were the food brings good memories is a treasure. It's such a lovely place, so inviting. Food portions and taste were on point. My favorites were the scrambled eggs, coffee and my husband's country steak. I just cant belive we haven't been here before."

"After a meandering drive through beautiful farm country we arrived at Velma’s, a great country kitchen restaurant hole in the wall with AMAZING food. Worth the drive. The proprietors were welcoming even though it was just before closing and they cooked and served up some of the best breakfast food you can find. My corned beef hash was crispy and perfect; so was my pancake. They brought Land o’ Lakes butter with the meal: impressive, none of that margarine. My husband tried the ham and bean soup and raved about how good it was, “Just like Grandma Perkins’s.” It tasted good for your soul, that good. The cornbread that came with it was from scratch, not sweet. If you want an authentic American breakfast at a mom-and-pop place with hospitality and great food in a country atmosphere, this is it. Velma greeted regulars by name right up to closing time. They ran a good takeout business, too."
