Best Buy

"Let me preface this by saying this location has excellent staff who try hard every time I've shopped here. The problem is that I waited 2 hours for a curbside order for an item behind a glass case. Nobody in the curbside lots. I had to cancel this order and just buy it in store. How is this a problem for one of the largest electronics distributors in the country in 2024? Additionally, a gift card I received for Christmas didn't work in this store. It was a genuine best buy card. Every swipe caused an error. Associates even entered the code manually for 20 minutes. Nothing. Tried ordering online and the gift card worked. I had it delivered the next day. This lack of prioritization to basic functionalities of the store is embarrassing and a waste of my time. I implore Best Buy to have more than one person handling curbside AND pickup orders. Guy had a full cart and looked like he was about to pass out."

"Saw the geek squad for a laptop hard drive issue which resulted in purchasing a new one. Very helpful and knowledgeable young lady at the geek counter. Go to sales department to choose replacement laptop, helped by a different young lady in a geek shirt, who insisted she would finish the necessary paperwork to transfer all the data from the old to the new. New laptop was ready to be picked up earlier than the date I was given. Go to pick it up and feel I was rushed into confirming that everything transferred over correctly. I was sold some kind of assistance package plus the Microsoft suite of software. Every time I turned it on, I got errors. I tried to contact support, which is nearly impossible, spent a half hour on the chat with India and finally closed the session. Giving 3 stars because I feel that if the geek squad turned it on and received those errors, I should have never left the store prior to it being addressed. Now I am stuck with an expensive support package that is useless."

"Went to pick up an order that was delayed a week for in store pickup. Haven't been to Best Buy in probably a decade. Went towards customer service cause I didn't know where to go to pick up and there were signs at CS saying to go to the registers now..Went to the register and asked the cashier about it and was told pickup was behind me where a line was that you couldn't see upon entering the store because it was behind a wall..next to which was a VERY small sign that stated pickup...better signage would be a good idea especially at the holidays. She ended up helping me there but I'm sure I wasn't the only person to have that issue."

"There are plenty of employees, they’re just not doing their jobs. We waited 30 minutes to ask an employee a question and eventually gave up because only 1 person was working the phone counter and he was busy. There’s 1 cashier working while the line has over 10 people in it. Meanwhile there are 4 employees within my line of sight milling around, not helping customers nor stocking, just standing around. They have good product options but we left without buying anything because no one was doing their job. We waited 20 minutes and the line did not move. The next closest Best Buy is 30 minutes away, in downtown Orlando. I will happily drive 30 minutes into downtown traffic to avoid this place. Not coming back!"

"I used to think Best Buy stores were organized, well-managed, and employed by knowledgeable, professional, and persuasive sale associates. This particular Best Buy is located, literally, RIGHT next to my condo. Since I did not have the time to wait for the items I needed to be shipped from Amazon, I decided to troll on over to Best Buy in Altamonte Springs. Unfortunately, I cannot say the store held the same standards I was expecting. I am not sure if their management is dropping the ball, the store is not getting enough sales to cover the cost of hiring enough employees, or perhaps the stock associates are not using their full potential when distributing, organizing, and zoning.... but whatever the case may be, it is definitely not 'the best' Best Buy. I was not greeted upon entering or thanked upon leaving. The departments were hard to find. Some of the products seemed to be displayed incorrectly throughout the store. The associates I asked for help were unable to answer any of my questions about their services or if they carried certain brands. (As I previously mentioned, not one staff member approached me as I circled around and around the store, looking for the items I needed,). To wrap it up, I suggest going to a different location, or maybe a different store altogether. UPDATE: the open box deals are really good, but the website isn't always accurate for what items the store has in stock/pricing. Also, you can sometimes sell them back Electronics you don't use/want anymore. I do wish they had more mobile coupons/rewards."
