"I'm writing this review not to dissuade anyone from staying at this hotel (I even hosted guests here for my wedding in 2021), but rather to share a recent experience in the hope that the owner or corporate management takes notice. I live nearby and was in need of accommodation due to Florida Power & Light's scheduled power outage in my neighborhood for six days to address a panel issue stemming from last year's hurricane (an event beyond my control and not a reservation for vacation purposes - you heard me right, six days). Requiring a place with a kitchenette, I initially booked a stay at the Hyatt Vacation Club nearby. However, they could only accommodate me for a few days, so I made a reservation at the Hyatt Place for the remaining days. When the Hyatt Vacation Club had a cancellation, I extended my stay there to avoid relocating and to retain access to a kitchenette. Upon calling to cancel my reservation at the Hyatt Place, I was informed that I had booked a non-refundable room, an oversight on my part (never have seen this in my experience with Hyatt but given that its during Spring Break, I'm assuming that's why). Despite being a Hyatt member for at least five years, having my wedding at the Hyatt Regency Club, and my wedding guests staying Hyatt Place, the management only agreed to refund me for two nights, refusing to refund the third night. This decision was disappointing, especially given the circumstances, that I cancelled almost exactly a month before the reservation and that I'm cancelling to only stay at another Hyatt with a higher rate. It seems unreasonable that, despite my continued loyalty to the Hyatt brand and my ongoing stay at another Hyatt property and that I cancelled well in advance, the Hyatt Place insisted on strictly adhering to their "non-refundable" policy, prioritizing $365 over customer satisfaction and loyalty. Despite contacting both the Vacation Club and the general Hyatt customer service, both in which agreed with my position, neither could help, stating that the Hyatt Place operates under a franchise but had wished they could help (Customer Service had even called on my behalf, yet the manager still refused)."

"This is an older, serviceable hotel located within walking distance to the sprawling Coconut Point mall. (Just don't make the mistake as we did and go to the other nearby Hyatt property, the stunning Hyatt Regency Coconut Point!) The front desk clerks are friendly although check-in was very slow for no apparent reason. Rooms are comfortable and parking is plentiful. The complimentary hot breakfast is a nice touch, though selections didn't change much during our four-day stay. The lobby is quiet with plenty of seating areas and there's a counter where you can purchase food and drinks, including wine."

"The lobby is beautiful and the service is good. The pool is nice but it's only open from dawn to dusk. The rooms are not what you would expect from Hyatt. These are clean, but a little run down. The beds are pretty good. Breakfast was good with plenty of options. The fresh fruit was excellent!"

"The rooms are nice. The staff were very friendly. You can walk to a bunch of restaurants and shopping stores. There's a super Target a ten min walk away. However, the pool and hot tub were both closed, there isn't much to offer at the breakfast, and the gym is terrible."
