"We visit the Ruskin/Apollo Beach area several times a year as our elderly mother lives in Sun City Center which is very close by. How have we missed finding this Gem of a place until now? All the rooms/bungalow's are separate so you feel so private and they are newly renovated which is a huge plus as it is obvious by all the tropical lush landscaping that this small paradise has been there a while. Now on to the incredible service we received. The owners are nothing short of amazing. We arrived a bit early and there was the warmest welcome checking in and getting our key early. Rare these days now that every other place has a Digital keypad that won't work until the exact check-in time. We were already super impressed and then we entered our unit 1819. Wow, it was so clean and comfortable for my husband and I. We really liked that it had a roof-top patio and was so close to the water. The only thing missing was a hair dryer, so I emailed Lynn and asked if by chance they had one I could use and before I even got up from my computer there was a knock at the door with a hair dryer! These folks are here to make sure your stay is fantastic. Really recommend this place if you want quiet, clean and comfortable. We will be back!"

"The owner is perhaps one of the rudest individuals I have ever met. We booked 7 cottages for the weekend of November 11, 2023 with the owners being fully aware that it was our wedding weekend and we were seeking a place for the bridal party to get ready at prior to going to the ceremony at a chapel down the street. I spoke directly with the wife several months in advance as well as the office manager and told them our plans and asked if they were okay with having us there. Right as our photographer arrived for the pre-ceremony pictures of the bridal group the owner came up to our guest and my fiancé and started cussing them out for where they parked. This was a VERY heated 30 minutes event that shook everyone up. He was so incredibly out of line and rude. We were doing nothing wrong! The cars were not blocking anyone, but the rest of the group. As everyone knows you pay for your photographers’ time and you pay for the time of all your vendors. Due to the owners outburst our wedding was 45 minutes late to start. Our 1st look pictures and all our initial bridal group pictures didn’t happen. The owners wife attempted to make excuses for her husband’s behavior but there is nothing she could say to erase the damage he created since it was domino effect - when one thing is delayed, it all is delayed. As for the cottage itself.... OMG - NO! My fiancé and I stayed in 1821 and it smelt like swamp water - it was soooo bad. My son and his wife stayed in 1815 and it was overrun with ants in the bathroom. No AC was provided in the 2nd bedroom. When I first saw this place, I thought it was awesome and told all our out of town guests to book there when they come to visit. After all this happened and truly seeing how they run their cottages - we would not recommend this place to our worst enemy. No wonder they have been trying to sell the property - they are over their heads and do not have good customer service at all. We had several other guests planning on being there, but they were cancelled by the owners due to the property not being ready. One of our guests had to fight for their money back after he was cancelled on. This was not a nice way to start our wedding day with over 150 guests waiting for us down the street. NEVER AGAIN will I ever recommend this place. As a matter of fact, my fiance told the owner that we will never recommend his place again and he said "GOOD! DON'T". The "5" star reviews on this site is either from their close friends, people they paid or for the reviews of the past owners - cause no one in their right minds would ever give them a positive review. They wonder why they are going bankrupt - KARMA!!!"

"this is a nice little resort, it sits on the little manatee river, the rooms are separate cottages , they have a dishwasher fridge and a stove and micro, there's a nice swimming pool and a fishing dock with chairs and tables, others told us they saw dolphins swimming up the river. very quiet and relaxing, only problem was lots of bugs but I would go back."

"A retro super cute cottage style resort. A micro neighborhood inside a well-kept 55+ retirement mobile home park. Not particularly big on amenities but the location and vibes are what sells it. Friendly staff and neighbors, boat slips, centrally located in Ruskin. Diamond in the rough!"
