"Absolute ripoff. I took my dog there for 5 hours. Still charged me a full day for doggy daycare (who doesn't provide half day rates?!). I pick him up. His back is SOAKED in piss. I go "ummm? what happened?" "oh yeah. he slid into piss from another dog". I couldn't believe it. She then said she would "only charge 1/2 for a bath" if I WANTED!! absolute ripoff. stay away."

"Yes, this is a very negative review and yes, I totally expect Dogtown management to write an aggressive hostile rebuttal in an effort to discredit me since being aggressive and hostile towards unsatisfied clients is their baseline default. First and foremost, Dogtown is all about your money and nothing about your dog! Believe me when I say this! It does not matter how upset you are with their services or lack of services, they will not release your dog unless you pay them first. I was very unhappy for a variety of reasons and was forced into what felt like a hostage negotiation to get my dog back from them. A little background… My wife and I have been a client of Dogtown for over 8 years. We have literally spent thousands of dollars boarding our dog with them and… We were always very happy with them until the last two times. After a disappointing experience earlier in the year, we decided to give them another chance after management apologized, told us that they were having “staffing issues” but had sorted it out and things will go back to normal. Like I already stated, we had been happy clients for over 8 years at that point so… We decided to board our dog with them again over the Thanksgiving holiday. That turned out to be a big mistake. 1. The staffing issues were not sorted out. 2. They had over 30 dogs being boarded… While in the midst of having additional staffing issues. 30 dogs at this location is a lot even when staffing isn’t an issue. 3. Our dog did not get his three walks per day per our agreement. 4. We did not receive a daily report card and photos per our agreement. 5. They did not answer the telephone after multiple days of calling multiple times or the phone rang just until the line simply went dead. No voicemail service ever picked up. 6. We called the Coconut Grove location and was able to leave a message. No one ever called us back! 7. We wrote emails that were never responded to. 8. We were forced into what felt like a hostage negotiation in order to get our dog back. I even, at one point, asked for proof of life, in which they held him up from afar and showed him to me. They refused to bring him out to me until they had been paid. 9. We were forced to pay for a bath that our dog did not receive. 10. They refused to give us a receipt after we paid. 11. After paying, a manager, who was on the telephone, screamed at me and told me to take my dog and “get out!!!”. 12. A day later, I spoke to another manager who called me to “get my side of the story”. After my conversation with him, I requested that the owners give us a call. We never heard from them. Again, Dogtown is all about your money and nothing about your dog or… Us as their client. Again, the owners were given multiple opportunities to contact us prior to this review being posted but never once tried to reach out. We are done with Dogtown. If you’ve read this far, please use this facility at your own risk!!! There are many other facilities in the area. I recommend any of them over Dogtown."

"My dog really should be the one writing this review because she’s OBSESSED with coming here! This is the first dog boarding and grooming encounter my 15 year old Border Collier mix has enjoyed and left smiling! Every time I have taken her to get groomed anywhere else they have shaved her down EXCEPT FOR HERE!!! They dematted her, gave her an amazing cut and left her coat the best it’s ever looked. Because of how great the grooming experience was, I trusted them to board her while on vacation. The experience was fantastic! They sent daily updates and pictures which helped put my mind at ease. When I went to pick her up she saw me, turned around and wanted to go back in. Everything about the experience was great. Additional pluses- the staff is warm and friendly, the online booking is convenient, the pricing is reasonable, and the location is ideal. All in all, couldn’t more highly recommend!"

"The person in the front desk is great. However the grooming service for Australian shepherds is very poor , we asked for a well done cut for our Aussie and we had to bring him another time for a “repair” The first time was squared up and the second time just very bad shaped and rounded. It seems the groomer just doesn’t know how to fulfill on an Australian shepherd’s cut. I took him the second time to fix it and groomer didn’t even dig deep into what we wanted or how it should be done, or why it was such a bad first try. This is also not a cheap service. I do not recommend this place for Australian shepherds at least. Picture of his first try (squared) and second try (weirdly rounded) are attached We even sent a picture of what we wanted or some other dog to model. Not even close."
