About the Business

Almost Home Pet Resort is a premier pet boarding facility located at 514 North Saint Cloud Avenue in Valrico, Florida. We offer overnight boarding services for a variety of pets including dogs, cats, birds, small furries, livestock, and reptiles. Our safe and comfortable sleeping quarters, large outdoor play yards, and quality diets ensure that your pets are well taken care of during their stay with us. We also have the capability to oversee special medical needs for your furry friends.

You are welcome to stop by for a tour any afternoon Monday - Friday from 3 - 5 pm. We have no breed restrictions, no required meet and greet, and no required spay/neuter. If you are in need of longterm boarding for your pets, we can provide a safe and secure place for them.

For the month of May, we are offering a special inflation rate of $20.00 for overnight stays for dogs. We also offer add-on services such as extra walks/playtime, swimming in the inground pool, and texting photos for a small fee.

Our daycare services are designed to provide a day full of fun for your dogs. They arrive at 8 am and stay until 5 pm, enjoying playtimes in the playyards, quiet time, and plenty of snacks. Daycare helps to socialize, exercise, and housetrain your dogs. Full day rates are $20.00 and half days are $10.00. Training is also offered by Dogmaster K9.

Basic grooming services are available by appointment, with rates starting at $30.00 and going up to $150.00. Spa baths with nail trims are $30.00, small dog grooms with bath, trim, and nails are $60.00, medium dog grooms are $80.00, and large dog grooms are $125.00. Unfortunately, cat grooming is not available at this time.

"I am so glad I chose Almost Home Pet Resort to care for my dog while I traveled out of state. The kennel sits on a spacious lot away from the road, and they have a variety of accommodations for pets. The owner, Kevin, is great. I believe his passion truly is for animals, as he provided my emotionally and physically needy dog with one-of-a-kind care, rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach most kennels use. Every time I have boarded my dog with another kennel, he has caught kennel cough (despite having the vaccine), rubbed his nose raw, and lost weight from anxiety. When I arrived to take him home, I was relieved to see he hadn't lost weight or rubbed his nose raw; and he didn't have kennel cough! Thanks to Almost Home Pet Resort, I was able to have some peace of mind and enjoy the holiday. We will definitely be repeat customers!"

"This is the best place around. The owner is the nicest guy you’ll ever meet. He and his staff took great care of our dogs. Also this place is huge so they will almost always have availability, they were able to accommodate us for thanksgiving with one day notice. This place is under new management as of about 2 months ago so definitely disregard earlier reviews. I massively recommend boarding your pets here."

"Place is spotless and remarkably order free for a place that houses pets! Friendly, caring staff make you feel very comfortable about leaving your beloved pet there. Also have services available such as grooming and bathing while they're there. My dog came back well fed (unusual for him) calm and tired from all the fun he had in the outdoor play yard!"
