"Had a nice weekend visit at the fishing camp. Place was clean and well kept. We had direct access to the pontoon boats and spent time at Silver Glenn Springs."

"My son and daughter-in-law's wedding was beautiful I have to say cabin five and six still need restoration but the AC and cabin five is ice cold so the lack of restoration was just fine just saying I enjoyed myself immensely and the wedding could not have been more beautiful the boaters on the St Johns even saluted and hollered and congratulated the bride and groom everything was beautiful and just perfect I highly recommend it next time I want to actually do some fishing LOL"

"We live only an hour away from this business. We went for the day to rent a pontoon boat. My first impression of the business was a woman in the office. One of the people in our group said "every time she spoke, it was in a scolding tone of voice." I found her to be not helpful and not cordial. But, I am mainly writing this to give a heads up to those of you that are renting a pontoon. You do pay for fuel on top of the rental fee. Some places do not charge you for fuel. So be prepared because these pontoons evidently use much more gas than other ones with less horsepower. I had expected $20 or so. Turned out to be over $50 for 3 hours on the water. Yes, we were moving on the water for 3 hours. For those of you that just go out and sit and fish, fuel won't be as much. Otherwise, the pontoon was very nice and roomy. Only one bimini, but that has been the same with other rentals in other areas of central FL and on the gulf side. If you are short, take their steps with you if you need to get out of the boat other than at their dock. Water was low and dock was higher than boat so very challenging for some of us shorter people to get in and out of the boat. The people at the dock that oriented us on the boat were thorough and helpful. We have boated other places that had more wildlife and things of interest, so we will continue to try different areas and won't be back to this place."

"Jody and I booked a half day pontoon, had such a wonderful time called and asked to keep for the full day, with no concerns from staff. The boats are very well maintained and very clean. The dock staff are amazing, ensuring you know the entire boat operation. If you are renting, make sure you get to office 30 minutes prior, this time allows you to fill out required documents and ample time for dock staff to give instructions. We will be renting a boat from Castaways again. Thanks."

"Was looking for a cool new place to take my service dog and just get away for a day/night. I picked a Sunday afternoon check-in. thinking there would be plenty of vacancies to choose from. So I called the office and asked if cabin number 8 was available they said yes. So I said I would like to book it for today for one day. I was put on hold and then was told that there is no one day bookings allowed. it's a minimum of 2 days. I would love to stay for 2 days but just don't have that kind of time. So I politely said well thank you for your time and I went back to their website and and found there's nowhere that (2 day) rule is stated. It says daily rates, weekly rates, etc. it says daily dog deposits, weekly dog deposits, etc. not one place does it say (2) today minimum. very disappointed was looking forward to this short getaway with my Lil buddy Upchurch. We'll find somewhere else that will have us."
