First Step Therapy

"I have 3 kids and I’ll tell you this. As a male parent with two very unique autistic children and a newborn, mind you the love, attention and affection I give my children- I expect others to respectfully do so for my children. Hence is why I can say without no regard to anyones opinions but, FIRST STEP THERAPY is absolutely amazing. I have had absolutely no problems with the crew, just a lot of education and growing experiences as a parent for my children. I would like to have a special shout-out to CAMILLE - the first therapist to become more than just a therapist but, a friend to my family. Her level of expertise is phenomenal and the way she handles and cares for the children - AMAZING. Not forgetting the ladies and man with a solid educational / fundamental plan - DAVID & LINA. These two are trustworthy and a great souls. So much respect for the team. For the comment I read leaving a review for the Christmas Party. I was there pretty much the whole day with my 3 children and the negative accusations and comments made upon the therapist who work there are false. I haven’t once seen nor received any negative treatment and can’t allow someone to defraud a person because of their personal feelings. I’ve learned with my experience with first step - that if you feel someway or uncomfortable, the first thing to do is make it aware to their attention. The crew are so respectful / very understanding to parents that, as a parent who entrust these therapists to help us with our family growth . I have to speak up on behalf of the First Step Group - and give them the proper and absolute praise they deserve. You guys are amazing and I want to see your growth in this field for I believe all of you are genuinely here for the children and their development."

"My child has been going to First Step-Therapy in Leesburg for over a year now. When we 1st started going my child was VERY limited on what my child could do. My child has 3 different types of therapy there ( we are there alot). The progress my child has been able to do is AMAZING. Her Speech Cory has helped her in so many ways. Cory has been patient, caring, understanding and always supportive. Her PT’S Erika and Carey have done WONDERS! They have encouraged me one what I can do at home to help. They explain all the exercises and what to look out for. And David OT who came recently, well he bonded with my child right away and has helped as well. He gives me ideas to continue therapy at home that will best help my child. I recommend one that has a child who needs therapy to go to First Steps Therapy. You will be pleased. My child and I are blessed that we found them to best help my child."

"My daughter was dropped from services without an explanation or a call from the office manager Denise. Camille her therapist would not take my daughter back for their holiday party either. She missed out on all the fun because the staff didn't want to deal with her anymore. Their policy is they put you on a wait-list if you have to cancel or reschedule.. nobody cares if your kid is sick or if you break down on the way there. Also first steps will withhold benefits from their therapists if you need to cancel or reschedule. I was told by Camille she lost her personal benefits because of my daughter. The office manager Denise refused to call me but instead her and Camille called my husband who works in trees. They left him a VM stating if you don't call back by this time your daughter will be dropped. He didn't get the message in time but when I called and texted Camille she ignored me and stated she had too many patients and she couldn't see her when I finally got a response. My daughter has been going to first steps for over a year.. I cannot believe how they can just drop her like nothing. She was going to therapy twice a week and now nothing because Camille and Denise couldn't just call me. Camille developed a relationship with my daughter and she just left her. I'm shocked how we were treated. Shame on this facility for how they treat these kids. Parents who don't have much don't go here! They do not care about your situation, your child can be running a high fever and if you didn't call the day before they will still count it against your child! I've tried contacting first steps about this situation but was ignored. Shame on this place! Families with children with disabilities go through enough as it is. I will never recommend this place again."
