About the Business
BE Dance Studios, located at 8820 Miramar Parkway in Miramar, Florida, is a nonprofit organization founded in 2009 by Perpetua Phillips. Our mission is to promote inclusivity and diversity in the professional dance world by providing quality dance education to communities of color. We believe that dance is a powerful vehicle for self-discovery and acceptance.
Our highly qualified teachers have over 25 years of experience and offer classes in ballet, acrobatics, jazz, modern, and tap. From 2-year-olds to senior citizens, we welcome students of all ages and levels. Our classes focus on technique, musicality, flexibility, and strength, while also encouraging self-expression and creativity.
In addition to classes, BE Dance Studios hosts events such as the Brown Ballerina Empowerment Summit and community performances of The Nutcracker. We also provide scholarships for graduating high school seniors and partner with organizations like Feeding America and the Salvation Army for service events.

"Very Dishonest business. Once they make a mistake they will not take responsibility and try everything to manipulate the situation to get your money. I have tried multiple times to make this right but when the owner recognized she did a mistake she just didn’t care and manipulated me with fear tactics. Never again. "My daughter has not been dancing with Be Dance Studio that long. However, thus far it has been great. I was really against virtual dance class. I didn’t believe my daughter would get the best experience doing dance class online. But class with Ms. Peppie has be wonderful. She is absolutely amazing. "BE Dance Studios is an amazing, family oriented dance studio that provides dance instruction in multiple genres. I was blessed to have found this studio for my daughter when I did because it has had such a positive impact on her life. The staff is very friendly and genuinely cares about each and every dancer (and their families). Even when the final Spring 2020 performance was put on hold because of the pandemic, they continued to hold virtual classes and ultimately found a way to have their first virtual performance/movie which was absolutely amazing! My daughter truly LOVES being apart of this studio and has gained many friendships and positive role models along the way. We love our BE dance family!"
