"After 20 years with this company and home insurances taking a rise ($5800 a year, for a house that was build in 2002), I called Tami Karol ins. and spoke with Kaitlyn. I express that I had just installed a new roof, got the wind mitigation inspection and I want her to look for a better rate. After several weeks and days before my insurance was ready for renewal, she contact me and said that the best that she found was $300 less of my current rate. I was alarmed, most of the people from my neighborhood with similar house sizes pay between $2800 and $3500, so I started to shop around until I found an agency that give me a policy for $2600 with similar coverage. Here is when the fun part started, I call Kaitlyn and told her that I was going with the new agent and that my bank already sent a check paying for the upcoming renewal to the previous insurance company and when i called the insurance co. they needed a cancelation form from the writing agent (Tami Karol) to refund me that check (Keep in mind that the policy was not active yet because was an upcoming renewal and we are not going to proceed with the renewal). She told me that she couldn't provide me with that cancelation form until I give her proof that the new policy was active and then ask me why did I change to other agent. I said that was because she didn't do anything for me and I got a better price, she started bashing the new insurance company and told me that she had the same options, but she decided for me what I needed and what was my best option... (I guess that I can't make my own decisions now). So she proceeded and told me that she needed a form (that I can't remember the name) from my new agent to give me that cancelation form. When I called the agent and asked them for this form, they explained that this form is to transfer the policy to Tamy Karol agency so they will owned and they collect residual percentage from this policy. I believed that it was an sneaky move and my new agent couldn't believe that they tried to do that. Then I called back Tami Karol ins. and I spoke with a different person, to my surprise I didn't needed to get any form from anyone, I just needed to request the cancelation form from Tami, and they will email me a electronic cancelation and that will be all. After couple hours and stress piling up, it was resolved by a non sneaky employee. I wish this agency did a good job from the beginning and didn't force me to go through this unpleasant experience."
