"I just want to address the anonymous poster and clarify some important points. If you are giving positive feedback about a place, why hide your identity? Kinda seems suspicious and like you are just trying to increase your rating. Those of us who know the truth surrounding the events that took place in Oct. know that NO ONE was forced to leave or close the doors. Florida is a right to work state, and the employee handbook even addresses the "at will" employment status of the company. There were staff who had keys that could have opened the building and allowed the children to come in. However, they stated they would not open without me there. The owners even had enough time to get someone or themselves to Clermont since they were given over 3 hours' notice. I sent my resignation email at 3:30 pm, yet I didn't leave the facility until 7 pm. Parents were notified at 8:30 Wednesday evening so they had time to make arrangements. I promise that no malicious intent was made. My leaving did not mean the facility would close. Especially since I know that all those staff who walked on Wednesday are now back working. The new director can not make that many positive changes as the owner is not interested in creating a loving environment for the children or families. Nor does she want to do any type of maintenance on the facility. During the time I was there, I worked hard to make improvements that were needed. The owners don't even care to make visits to the facility. I know in the year I was there, I met only 2 of the 4 one time, 4 days after I was hired. When staff are continually late, calling out, and not following policies, it makes it impossible for the director to do what is best for all parties. Before making any decisions about this place, please call their corporate office and try to speak with the owner. Then make your own decision."

"Wellington Academy has truly set a high standard for educational and childcare excellence, a fact I've personally experienced with my child enrolled there. The most heartwarming aspect of this academy is its incredible teachers and daycare staff. My child's teacher, in particular, is a gem – passionate, attentive, and exceptionally skilled at nurturing young minds. This level of dedication and care is consistently echoed by the daycare workers, who are remarkable with both babies and older children. They create a nurturing, educational environment that fosters growth and happiness in the little ones. The transformation under the new director's leadership has been nothing short of miraculous. After the tumultuous period under the previous director, the new leadership has brought a sense of stability and positivity that permeates every aspect of the academy. The director’s understanding and compassionate approach have not only resolved the lingering issues but also instilled a renewed sense of community and purpose within the staff and students. This facility has equipped classrooms and play areas that cater to the needs of different age groups. The curriculum is thoughtfully designed, balancing educational rigor with the joy of learning. Wellington Academy, with its exceptional staff and leadership, has created an environment where my child not only learns but thrives."

"After 5 months of maternity leave it was time to find a daycare for my son, every daycare in clermont was full except for Wellington. First week was so unorganized and unstructured, my son kept bouncing from room to room because his teachers either quit or constant call outs. They would leave my 4 month old son in a seat and let him cry until he threw up because he was so upset when he just wanted to be picked up. It’s been times I would drop my son off and the other babies were visibly sick snotty nose and constant coughing so he would wind up getting sick the next day as well. The toys are so old and dirty where is the funding going?? Teachers and adults freely walk on the infant carpet with outside shoes where the babies are learning to crawl which is disgusting and unhygienic!! It’s been multiple times where 1 staff member is watching 5-6 infants when they’re only suppose to watch 4 at the maximum!! I felt so bad leaving my baby every morning! I was informed his teacher would wash the bottles everyday but the 1 week I took them home and washed them I found so much build up the bottles couldn’t have been washed the whole time he was there!! The last straw was when he came home with a very raw red diaper rash !! And a teacher was being investigated by cps for hitting a child !! I took my son out that week!! The doors are always unlocked with no adult in the front a little girl actually opened the door and let me in before, I asked where is your teacher! And why are older kids in the baby room anyway?? The director was always absent and it felt like the staff (teenagers were poorly running the daycare). No wonder so many parents dis enrolled their children. This place is so quick to hire anyone off the street !! Please stay far away and don’t bring your child here."

"I wish I could give this place zero stars. This was hands down the worst daycare experience we have ever had. My daughter has been in daycare since she was 6 months old and has always loved going. We started at Wellington due to lack of other options when we moved to the area. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!! We lasted just over a month before I couldn’t bring myself to leave my daughter there anymore. My happy, outgoing 2.5 yr old went from loving going to preschool to crying every morning in the car and begging me not to leave her there. She also went from almost potty-trained to dependent on diapers again. I had multiple staff members (including the director) tell me that it was too much work to potty train so many kids. There were a few good teachers, but most of the staff doesn’t seem to actually like children and they were not nurturing at all! I would have to ask someone to help me with my daughter every morning as they would sit watch her cry and do nothing to greet or comfort her. There is no security, the front door is often unlocked or even propped open. One day I found a dead cockroach on the floor in the middle of the playroom while kids were playing there! I told the director and she barely acknowledged me. She waved it off as if it was nothing! I felt like a bad mom everyday I had to drop my child off there. Something is very wrong with that place! Do yourself and your children a favor and STAY AWAY!!"
