"Dr Shammas is a wonderful doctor, she's great with the kids and always takes the time to answer questions. I give her 5 stars. My 1 star is in regards to the office for pedIM healthcare. I called a week ago to schedule physical and immunization appointment for my son and to get his records for daycare. The woman scheduled my 4 mo for a provider who only does 2+ yo children. They called me morning of to let me know and that they had a 9:15 opening. Unfortunately I got stuck in traffic and was going to be just over the 15 min allowance for appointment arrival. I tried calling back once and was on hold for 6 min before their system hung up on me. I got to daycare and tried again, being on hold again for another 4 minutes. The woman refused to work with me or even ask if the office could make an exception despite this being her fault. Had I known earlier I could have made proper arrangements for the appointment, my job and not be out the extra money at a time when gas prices are at an all time high. Now I've wasted gas, hours of my job I should have been focusing on and now need to waste more of each for an appointment on Friday. I understand people make mistakes, but it is ridiculous that I am the one that now has to pay way more of my time, money and mental load to make my appointment happen, esp after being so close to the doctor's office and calling ahead to give them notice I would be a bit late. I'm glad I called and was able to get through before wasting even more to get there.."

"When I was a minor she ignored my complaints and only listened to my mother, as if she was speaking for me. I've never felt so disregarded and it was like nothing I said or did mattered. I was in an abusive household and I couldn't speak about medical concerns I had since she refused to have my mother leave the room. Thankfully I'm in a much better place now as an adult, no thanks to this doctor. Learn to treat underage patients with dignity!"
