"I was referred to the office by my surgeon and before making an appointment I read the reviews. I was extremely hesitant to schedule because of the reviews/ ratings, but went ahead since the doctor I was supposed to see had a waitlist of 1.5-2 months. I will preface this by saying that this review has absolutely nothing to do with the care (I have yet to receive any treatment), only the management of the office. I had my first appointment on 12/30/2022 and when I went to the office I offered to provide them with my updated insurance information to which they said they could not accept any new insurance information until after the new year. If that’s their policy, I don’t have an issue with that. The issue I do have is them attempting to call me 2 days before my scheduled appointment (1/13) to verify the insurance knowing it takes 3-7 days to get authorization. When I called the office to speak with the office manager to express my concern and disappointment because I could no longer start my chemotherapy on the 13th, she confirmed the policy than proceeded to tell me that they had “166 patients” and blah blah blah. That’s not my problem though. They should have prioritized and delegated accordingly so this would never been an issue for me or any of their critically ill patients. Mind you, I have stage III cancer and I’m being told “to wait” because they didn’t do their job. I recommend anyone that has an urgent need to heed the reviews about the management of the office. Like I said, I can’t make any claims on the treatment as I have yet to be treated. I am currently “waiting” and looking for a different provider."

"My mom passed a few weeks after starting chemo and three different trips back and forth to the hospital. At first I thought Dr. Melo was actually a caring person. He continue to tell me my mom can have treatment even while she was dying and other doctors was saying to put her in hospice. If you need a doctor/facility who will take every step to ensure your treatment is working for you as opposed to killing you I would not recommend this office. the money is what they care most about not the patient. Some of the nurses are extremely rude, would not even say good morning when I brought my Mom in for treatment."

"I have been with Doctor Jose Melo for about 15 years. He is a great doctor very knowledgeable, compassion and truly cares about his patients. However the front desk staff lacks in people skills. They seem to forget that they are dealing with very sick people and being nice and courteous doesn’t cost a thing but does come along way!!"
