"My son has been a patient at Pensacola Kids Dentistry since age 5 when an unfortunate accident (don’t lean on the back legs of your chairs kids!) led to a chipped adult front tooth. This is a long story/review but, for any parent of a special needs child, it’s worth the read. First, I called a local Milton dentist and told them about my 5 yr old with autism who will experience challenges with sitting still and staying quiet while his front tooth would be capped. They told me they understood, and we booked an appt 3 weeks out so that I could mentally prepare him with the hopes the appt would be more successful. I created a social story, bought my own dental mirror and pick set, and practiced the details of the appt for weeks preparing him only to be called the day before the appt by the Milton dentist cancelling the appt. They told me that their dentist would not even attempt to repair my son’s tooth, nor would they even meet him to assess him and his capabilities bc of his autism diagnosis. I was devastated. All of that work to prepare my child and not even given a chance to meet the dentist to see if it would be too challenging of a task. I owned a business at the time, and one of the Pensacola Kids Dentistry’s staff members, Crystal, came in for coffee the day I was so forlorn trying to figure out my next steps. She assured me I’d be in good hands at Pensacola Kids Dentistry and that they worked with all kinds of children. I was skeptical but made an appt. Dr. Neil came in ready for the task. My son did indeed prove to be a challenge, but he handled it like a pro. We weren’t just tolerated, we were warmly welcomed, respected, and provided excellent service. A few more visits later and my kid became a pro at going to the dentist. The weight lifted off of my shoulders for such an important service was completely alleviated by Dr. Neil, Crystal, Libby, and other great staff members we encountered on our visits. The time eventually came for a tooth extraction. Even though years had passed since the chipped tooth, and though we had experienced many successful dental visits by this time, my anxiety over the procedure prior to the visit was very high. Once again, I was amazed. The trust that my son had developed with Dr. Neil completely put him at ease and, within minutes, his tooth had been removed calmly, painlessly, effortlessly, and all while treating my son with dignity and respect as he and his staff told my son each step that would occur. This week my son aged out of Pensacola Kids Dentistry, but not before they made sure we were ready to move on to our family’s dentist. Thankfully, we are ready and I cannot express my gratitude enough to Dr. Neil and Pensacola Kids Dentistry for completely shaping my son’s entire view of this very important service and giving him the safety and confidence to learn to navigate the dentist."

"Great and friendly dentist. However, just as other people have reviewed. They always find a way to be more than insurance covers and then we pay it "in full" as we leave but then later they decide to increase the bill and say we owe them more money. I am a business owner myself and I know it wouldn't work out well for me if I started rearranging my invoices after customers paid their final bill. Then, this last time they wanted to put our daughter under to remove two teeth to clear path for adult teeth and do two small fillings. They said it would be over $2000 even after insurance paid $800. This is after they charged our insurance thousands for two fillings earlier in the year.Needless to say we changed dentists and are getting all the work done for less than $400 and of course are not putting our 7 year old under for a minor treatment."

"Used to love this dentist before they moved buildings. That was when they seemed like they cared about the kids now with me building prices have gotten much higher where insurance don't cover as much but continued to go there. Every time we have went there last three years we have had a balance that insurance did not cover and we paid it at the next visit but this time 7 days before Christmas got a ride message from them saying they have tried to contact us several times and if they did not hear from us they would cancel any upcoming visits and turn account over to collect. Called them to ask about it and they said that had always been there policy. Which of that was the case went have they always let pay it on next visit. They are over priced which was fine when they actually seemed to care about kids. Will be looking for a different dentist . If looking for dentist stay clear they have a great rating on Google but would guess most of them ratings will change soon."

"Dr. Neil and Allie Simmons are the best—hands down! My son has seen Dr. Neil Simmons 4 times now, and he has had some pretty extensive work done. Each time we’ve visited their office, the staff has been amazing and so friendly. Dr. (Neil) Simmons and those who have assisted him each time completely put my son at ease and have taken such great care of him. Considering our appointments were for extractions, you would expect a level of dread beforehand, but my little guy actually looked forward to his visits; and that has everything to do with the quality of care he received. Oh, and jumping back a little, before we even got started correcting the dental issues my son was experiencing, we had to wait a bit to be seen (let me tell you right now: 100% worth any wait!), and during that time my little dude’s jaw swelled up and he was in a lot of pain. At our initial consult, Dr. Simmons told us to call if anything like that happened, so I called (outside of business hours, mind you) and left a voicemail expecting to hear back the following Monday—within an hour or so, Dr. Allie Simmons had called me back, and she called in antibiotics. It’s plain to see that they truly care for their patients! I’ve gone on and on about both Dr. Simmons, but their staff is equally wonderful! There really aren’t enough words to articulate the positive experience we had at Pensacola Kids Dentistry. I’m so thankful we were referred to them, and if you’re wondering the best pediatric dental office to take your little, look no further—seriously!"

"My little one Shepard saw Dr. Allie on the 16th and he had such a great experience. He had just gotten his 4 year old shots 2 days before so he was apprehensive but everyone was so kind and patient. He left the appointment and told me “I want to go to the dentist every day” and he is still talking about how fun the dentist is! Thank you all so much."
