"I saw Dr. Corcoran for about a year (2015) and I really regret it. I was 15 and I won’t put all of the details, but she did not treat me well. She exasperated a lot of my symptoms as well as adding new painful ones that I am still struggling with. She lied to me and told me our visits were confidential, but she told my mom every single little thing we spoke about (it was not life or death information simply things I divulged in private and did not want out in my family. She told my mom. In front of me and then asked me to continue trusting her. The cycle repeated about 3 times and by then therapy with her was pointless) She did this despite knowing the way this knowledge would be received in my house and despite that I explicitly told her to please not do this. Therapists have a very particular responsibility, we go to them in very vulnerable moments of our lives and they have a particular position in which they can cause a lot of damage to patients if they are not cautious. This is not a doctor messing up on your stitches, this is for life damage. She made other major missteps with me that I will not publish publicly, because frankly, they are just embarrassing. However what I can say publicly and unashamedly is that my time with her was without a doubt the most humiliating and distressing experience of my teen years. For all of the worst reasons, I will never forget her!"
