"I worked for this company for two years. What they do is try to save lives. They are devoted to it."

"I was a youth here 6 years ago and it was some of the worst 3 months of my life. Previously barely having a substance abuse issue and really just overall lacking direction and self confidence; more so smoking because my peers did it, but I feel if somebody would’ve just found a way to help me outside of a facility, I would’ve been better off as my substance use got WORSE AFTER exiting the program. I’ve heard stories from people who have gone here all the way from 15 years back to even in the past 3 years or so, it doesn’t seem like it’s getting any better. There was always a scandal happening and staff would express to us they were underpaid. A staff even trying something with a female youth and no one believed her because we couldn’t even fathom this staff trying anything like that. She tried to run away and then they bakeracted her, and that was legit the last we ever saw of her. This staff later reached out to me when I was still a minor and I won’t go into detail so that my review stays up, but I will say the staff needed as much help as we did as Youths. This doesn’t speak on the grove now, however this is my honest experience and so many other people have similar if not worse experiences from adolescent rehabilitation programs in general. Parents, love on your child and have open conversations about substance use, prioritizing safety, care for themselves, and not having to bend to what society may see as “cool”; even if you feel like you’ve ran out of options, don’t just hand them over because these people don’t know your children and can really treat them however. The staff who were the good apples out of the bunch that genuinely cared I feel at times became overwhelmed and overall most of them weren’t equipped to deal with the population presented to them which cause a lot of them to quit leading to a high turn over . I hope for the sake of Youth who are struggling, that there is change in this system."

"I hope this rehab is closed. I was a former impatient client at the adolescent campus 10 years ago. I since have went into behavioral health services as a provider myself and the Grove was a traumatic experience and does not provide ethical and sade learning environments for patients or teach replacement behaviors. Incompetent and inappropriate relations with clients. Do not take your child here for services."
