Advanced Urology Institute - Lecanto Office

"I never got to see Dr. Desai due to his horrific office staff. I was rescheduled 3 times before showing up for initial app't. I sat for 45 minutes in waiting room after coming in early so paperwork could be checked (5 minutes). I saw a person in the parking lot talking with another man and I watched that man enter the office area and call to the doctor, through the reception area. He was let in. This is TOTALLY wrong! I was finally called by name to come back and another couple got up and went with the nurse. I walked to reception area and asked what was going on? She looked surprised and said that was the second time today that happened. Then the nurse came and took me to an exam room. I left after 30 minutes more of waiting in exam room without ever seeing Dr. I asked for my paperwork - which was not ALL returned. This place is a screw-up!! A follow-up, 11/30/2023. On receiving an insurance summary, I found Advanced Urology charges that totaled $427.00 for my non-visit. I sent an email, with this statement to the office manager, Gina Barnes, subject line, unsubstantiated charges, on 11/8/2023. NO REPLY 3 weeks later. Office incompetence is only out done by lack of integrity and honesty - 0 stars for Advanced Urology!!"

"Dr. Kumar has cared for my spouse since July. We have never had to wait or were we treated in a manner that wasn't consistent with my expectations. He was neither argumentative or arrogant. In other words he wasn't defensive when asked a question, spoke clearly, with emphasis on not speaking in medical terms, but in terms we were familiar with. I certainly will post if things change, but it's unlikely. His staff to date has been quite charming. Keep on keeping on Dr. Kumar!"

"I wan in the ER the other night where I was diagnosed with a kidney stone that was too big to pass. the Emergency room doctor told me she spoke to their urologist on call Dr. Desai and he wanted to see me in his office at 11am the following day and not to eat or drink anything because they would likely need to place a Stent. this morning I called to confirm and was told by the receptionist she had no record of that. I was crying in pain and asked her to please check woth the doctor as he had spoken to the er doctor the night before. She told me he was with patients and she would call me back when she k ew something. At 10:50 she calls and says well I'm sure you can't get here by 11 and the doctor leaves early today so I can't get you in till Thursday. but if it gets bad just go back to the ER. the lack of compassion and care from a doctors office is disgusting. I told her if I have to go back to ER for care I will be fine ding a different urology practice to handle my follow up after because it is clear that they do not care at all about their patients."
