"I would give this place 10 stars if I could! We came in last night with a bleeding nail. The receptionist was so kind and helped us get checked in. The vet tech (I believe the name was Chris) was so sweet with our dog! Our dog is a ball of anxiety, and our dog was comfortable with the vet tech the whole time. We could not believe it since she normally has a hard time with people she does not know. Our dog received speedy service and we left feeling relieved. I cannot recommend this office enough. Hopefully we do not have another emergency, but if we do, it is so reassuring to know a place as great as this one exists. Thank you!!"

"The first thing they will do is take your pet in the back and not let you go with them. Then they charge you a large deposit based on what might be wrong with your pet (ours was $1200). That's as far as we got. After waiting about an hour and a half with no word, the vet came in and said they had several other pets that were in worse condition than ours. She had been in a kennel in the back for the whole time! The vet was very direct and informative. He took about 10 minutes to discuss the condition we had thought our dog had and tell us that she didn't appear to be in extreme distress. There were other animals that were much sicker, so they had to attend to them before proceeding with more tests on our dog. That's completely understandable triage. It was after 1am, so we felt reassured enough to take her home. It took another 10 minutes to get our dog from the back, which seemed like a really long time to put on a leash, open the kennel, and walk her out front. They credited back all but $135 to our credit card, which made sense since they hadn't really done anything but an initial exam. I'm giving 4 stars because the receptionist was very kind and informative and tried very hard to answer all our questions. Also, the vet did examine her thoroughly enough to determine that she most likely didn't have the life-threatening condition we had feared. He was very professional and clearly explained everything. He advised more tests but it was late and they were really busy so we decided to take our dog home. She's still alive this morning, so I guess that was the right call. I knocked off 1 star because i don't like the way they take your pet immediately to the back, and don't talk to you to understand why you brought them in or what symptoms you may have previously witnessed. You know your pet best. The $$ up front is understandable, and they only charge for the services they perform. I was glad they were open when we were extremely concerned about our dog. Now you know what to expect."

"It’s never easy to say goodbye to a beloved family pet, much less one who has been in the family for over 17 years. On a long holiday weekend, our beautiful cat, Angel, began to lose her battle to kidney disease and declined very quickly. She was in so much pain, we couldn’t let her suffer until we could see her regular vet. We called around and the Destin Emergency Veterinary Clinic said that for something like this, we would not need to wait, they would take us right back. And they did. They were so kind and empathetic. They even sent a sympathy card in the mail. While I hope I never need their services again, this is where I’ll go if I do."

"We had an emergency with one of our cats, and the vet he had was so good throughout the whole process, explained everything, even though no one really knew what was happening with my cat cuz all the tests came back fine, he kept our cat until the cat was feeling better using toilet properly eating and not salivating anymore, kept an eye on him for 24 hrs, i just knew Pako was in good hands, in the end when we went to pick him up, i don’t think he even wanted to leave the place, definitely had lots of cuddles, thank you to Dr. Carroll and his team."

"My almost 16 y/o dog needed help to pass late on a Friday night. The staff and doctor were all so incredibly kind to both her and I. I've had to say goodbye to a few animals and as odd as it sounds to have a "good" experience doing so, they really did make it peaceful and all their love and kindness showed. I feel very grateful that they were open during the crazy hours of the night so she did not have to suffer and made a very sad experience as positive as possible. Thank you!"
