"Walked into the restaurant eagerly anticipating a great meal. The cashier walked away from me to her colleagues and they turned their backs to me. I called out to them in a friendly manner. They kept their backs turned to me and did not say anything. It took me a moment. I then realized that they don’t serve people who look like me. I’m African American. My caucasian friend has no trouble being served and is welcomed with affection at the same place. This is a factual statement. It’s 2024."
