"I had high hopes for my meal but unfortunately, it fell very short of expectations. I ordered rice & peas with oxtails and a side of cabbage. While the cabbage was exceptional 10/10 the oxtails were ruined by an overwhelming amount of ginger. I literally had huge chunks of ginger in my food. The dish could have been fantastic if wasn’t for this overpowering ginger flavor. I drove 20 minutes to try their food, it wasn’t worth the drive :( With some adjustments to the seasoning, particularly the ginger, this place has the potential."

"Jean's Caribbean Restaurant has the best food. I order my favorite food, then take it home; sometimes I eat there if I'm ravenous. Most of the time I order her Jerk Chicken, but the Curry Chicken is fabulous also, but a lot of the time i ask for the Jerk Chicken, which is truly so delicious, and the spiciness is always perfect. But I always ask for more spicy sauce on the side. It comes with dirty rice, cabbage salad, plantains. Since I lived in the Islands for 3 months, i fell in Love with Island food. But after eating everything in the Islands, my favorite is still "Jerk Chicken", and if you want the BEST, ORDER FROM JEAN'S CARIBBEAN RESTAURANT!! You might want to take your Fabulous Meal Home, since the dining area is tiny, but as I said before if you're ravenous enjoy it there, and you won't be sorry. If you want a small portion get the lunch size; but since it's so delicious I always get the Dinner portion so it lasts a day or more for me to Enjoy! Try it, you will fail in Love with Jean's Caribbean Food. I've been ordering from Jean's Caribbean Restaurant for years and felt it was time that I stopped keeping it ALL to myself. So, please Enjoy! But, please leave me some to still Enjoy too. Remember to ask for the Lunch size or the Dinner size portion, which is so large you might have leftovers for the next day. No matter what size you order, Jean makes everything, so you will never be disappointed with any of the food. Also, she has all of the Sodas of the Islands and the Beers too. And her Desserts are good too. I will always eat the Jamaican Food from Jean's Restaurant because she is so original. The larger Jamaican Restaurants just aren't the same to me. Jean's Restaurant to me is perfect, just like in the Islands. Just go there and order what you want. Jean is great, the food is great too. Please Enjoy!!!"
